Excellent entry, and not much work for me at all. You can find the edited version at A5807630. I added a link to a BBC World Service Human Rights site. I also discovered that the links to photos of the candle and window in Salisbury Cathedral were broken; I went to the Cathedral's web site and found new links.

Please have a look and let me know if you'd like to add or change anything. Otherwise, it's off to the Editors!

Looks great to me, thanks. I don't know whether you read the PR thread, but I was wondering what your view on writing the word "Amnesty" in italics is? Someone in the thread suggested it, but I'm not sure about it.

I did read the PR thread, and I like the italics. I agreed with those who said that 'AI' is too easily misunderstood, and it would have been cumbersome to keep repeating 'Amnesty International' throughout the article. Putting the word 'Amnesty' in italics seems like an effective compromise.

'Course the Eds will probably tell me I'm wrong after I return the Entry...

I know the Eds are working on it - the entry popped up to the top of my queue yesterday...

It's hard to predict how quickly edited entries appear on the front page. They like to group entries that are related in some way, so it depends what else is in the queue. Frustratin', innit??

I don't think I've ever seen that many entries in the "Returned from Sub-editor" section of Coming Up.

One of the entries I subbed waited more than two months. Come to think of it, so did some entries that I wrote (I like obscure or offbeat subjects)...
