Just initials for straighttalker, it's how I sign off in posts sometimes or people shorten the name to ST. save typing it out in full everytime.

Course it could also mean I'm a saint....

Well the saint with my real name is 'saint of army wives' what do you reckon my real name is?

St. Barbara is the saint of army wives according to my brother,[ex-army], therefore Barbara would be a pretty sure guess me thinks.

just done a Yahoo search on St. Barbara, seems to fit.

I nominate the Patron Saint of Editors, St John Bosco (source: Schott's Miscellany) for recognition as 'obscure patron saint of the moment'.

How about St Gabriel, the patron saint of information technology?

Or St Maximilian Mary Kolbe, patron saint of addicts?

Has he been recently made a saint (what's the correct term?) or have TPTB designated an old saint to cover that?

St Gabriel is an odd one, because he is not really a saint by the normal definition - someone who has died and gone to heaven. He is an archangel, a creature who has existed in heaven with God since before the universe was created. The name "saint" however just means "holy" so any archangel would be holy.

He was always the patron saint of announcements since he made the fateful announcement to Mary so long ago. It was only a small step from there to being the patron saint of conveying information and from there to Intel Inside and Micro$oft.

Yes, by the way, sorry about this, I wanted to say: I am still about, but I've not had much time to look at the site recently because I've got friends staying for the weekend. I've been otherwise occupied, but I should be back on towards the end of next week.

I haven't forgotten about it!

I did. The last one's just left. A very good time had by all (I think). Now it's back to work for another week and a half (with a brief roadtrip next weekend), followed by a week off, then back to uni.
