Thought we'd better not use the other thread to post irrelevant comments - someone might get upset
Been a long time since we spoke last! How's things with you? Hope your keeping well and out of mischief

Yes Helen, it has been awhile! I'm doing well (keeping out of mischief...which gets a little boring sometimes ) even though it's been a rather cool summer here

has been a hectic few months for me! Have finally got divorced, sold the marital home and bought another house a couple of miles up the road well am in the process of anyway! Eldest daughter got married 3 weeks ago and as she married a chap in the Household Cavalry (army) it was a full military wedding in Windsor (where the queens castle is)
Still working night shifts for directory enquiries but am thinking of looking for something a bit more rewarding and stimulating to be honest!
Behaving yourself does get a bit boring doesn't it Was hoping to grow old disgracefully but chance would be a fine thing

Ah, the military wedding must've been nice. My father was in the Canadian army, so I'm familiar with the terminology...in fact he tells stories of being there when the war ended & the justifiable celebrations.

It was wonderful Because Rob is in the household cavalry they were able to get the use of one of the Queens carriage for the wedding along with a driver and a postillion - it was all very posh!
So your father was stationed over here during the war? I bet he has some stories to tell!!!

Splendid!
He's never (that I can remember) mentioned how long he was there, but both he & my uncle who was in the air force spent some time there. Oh yes, definitely some amusing...& somenot-so-amusing stories. Dad was also in north Africa, Italy & The Netherlands...well, Holland then (same place innit?) .
