I visit the Guide a few times a night, usually, if I'm able to get my computer to function long enough. There's a lot here to look at. It's been interesting so far.

My best friend's husband takes care of my computer problems, and mine has him frustrated at the moment. He's done pretty much everything a person can do to a computer short of exorcism. smiley - skull

I'm sure that's basically what mine needs as well...I've managed to refrain from the sledgehammer method!smiley - evilgrin

Me too, but just barely. Actually, a sledgehammer would solve every problem with any computer...as long as buying a new computer isn't a problem.

So, to change the subject without warning, you're a fan of the jazz, eh? I saw Lou Rawls live last month. He's really cool, and funny.

I've got tickets to see Arlo Guthrie next month, should be fun. Went to see him a couple of years ago, last time he was in town. He's pretty funny himself, when he's not trying to remember the words to his songs.

Computer seems okay, but I know this routine. It's trying to lull me into a false sense of security. The minute I think everything's fixed, that's when something else will go wrong. It's like living with one of those lions they use in movies. Those lions are mostly tame, because they get fed little by little, as they do their tricks on command. They work when they're hungry, because the humans feed them. If a movie lion is full and they ask him to do something, he's just as likely to attack a trainer or an actor. (Which might be a decent show, depending on the actor.) That's a decent description of my computer's behavior.

Anyway, Arlo puts on a good show. Even in a concert hall, it feels like you're sitting in a little club and he's talking to everyone, telling stories, singing. I love that kind of thing.

Then again, Weird Al was good too, and his show is the exact opposite of Arlo's. And he goes everywhere, so you should have an opportunity to see him in the near future, if you haven't already. If you like that kind of thing.

If you're into strange music, you might like http://www.request-a-song.com/ Not anything by any major artists, but it certainly is different. smiley - vampire

You bet. Here's another one http://www.gnarphlager.com/

That one goes to my friend Josh's music projects. Sometimes he puts up clips of songs to download. Good stuff. Really bizarre, for the most part, but good.

Some of those weird band names are also recognizable. I mean, really...Barenaked Ladies isn't that weird, is it? smiley - biggrin

Was there a follow-up to that list? Like, part 2? I'm not a Usenet user, so I have no idea how to wade through the links and threads and whatnot. I'd be interested to see the rest of the list though. That was only A-D.

Yeah another Canadian had posted that on another thread. It shold be easy enough to find the other parts, just do a word search for 'usenet band names'.
