are you serious that you actually liked that film? i watched it a couple of weeks ago and it was scary. not in a halloween kind of way, but more of a mess-with-your-head kind of way.
seriously, what's the attraction?

I enjoy having my head messed with. Anything that original and in depth is worthy of my favor. Plus it's quotable, I'm know for liking movies of questionable content just for a few good lines.

well i do agree that it's great getting good quotes out of a film. and original films are better than the same old story every time.

what exactly didn't you like about it, if you don't mind me asking?

Maybe I just didn't quite get it. I'm not sure exactly, but I wasn't to keen on all the darkness and the way it kinda messed with your head. The thing of whether or not Brad Pitt's character was real, of if he was an extension of the other guy. Weird stuff really.

Yeah, it is. There's something about the depth of thought that is in that movie that makes me like it. If you want to see another movie that is kinda and messes with your head I recomend Donnie Darko. It's still kinda dark, but much less anarchist and violent. I like movies that force people to think. Too many movies are predictable or contain child like "bathroom" humor.

I'm fed up with "bathroom humor" too. I never found it funny.
Haven't seen Donnie Darko either. I know whnat you mean about films that force you to think. I like it when you can bring analogies out of them, and can bring stuff out of them for your own life. Though I wouldn't say that such anarchy or sinisterness is needed.

No, neither would I, but it seems as though it has to be otherwise the world wouldn't pay attention to it. It's just like news and media (here in America, at least). They broadcast bad new, accidents, crashes, violence, death, poverty, political arguments and war. Rarely is there anything good going on, or so it would seem. It's as though they've really taken the saying "no news is good news" to heart. So all they tell us is a lot of negative crap. Sure the world has its problems, but I would like to hear about some of the good things that are happening. I believe that for the most part, people desire to be unhappy. On a whole we're all self mutilating and masochistic. We constantly tear our selves apart and compare the pieces to role models that society and the media have built up for us.
I'm not quite sure where this rant is going so I’m going to stop now. Looking back it sounds like I hate the media, which is not true. I'm a broadcasting major, I’m going to be one of them.

Oh, so you'll be able to change the system from within then?
If it means anything, the news here's pretty much the same. Probably talking about a lot of the same sort of stuff too. We get stuff on the Iraq situation, politics and a lovely bank robbery that got £26 million a couple of months ago.
Think we need some good news sometimes. I once heard that a newspaper was set up that only reported good news. But it only lasted a few weeks coz no-one wanted to read the good stuff.

I heard an interesting quote in one of my classes today, reminded me of my previous rant.
"If it bleeds it leads."
