ColBot's home from home
As usual, it's hard to find time to do anything pleasurable these days, but just so my space is available, I'll make a few hasty comments about myself.
I was born in the first half of the last century (but only just!) in what was then a rural suburb of London I attended local primary and then grammar schools before getting a job "up town".
My main interest at school was modern languages and that interest has stuck with me my whole life.
My first trip abroad was at the age of 7, and the first unaccompanied trip accross the channel was at the age of 11 to visit a pen pal in France.
I selected my job (one could in those days!) on the basis of being able to use my languages and perhaps have the opportunity of an overseas posting. That's exactly what happened: In 1972 I was posted to Munich, then to Frankfurt and that is where I have been stuck ever since.
I am told I speak German with practically no accent (it's English I have touble with these days!).
What would I most like to do? Chuck in work and study Anglo-Saxon!

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
