And yes, I mostly post here these days, when I've time to post at all. My blog might as well be described as Officially Closed, for a variety of reasons but mostly because I simply don't have the time for it these days.

Sorry to hear of any possible unpleasantries suffered by you about the blog situation. I was asking because when I was last here everybody seemed to have several spots and I was feeling lost with the low energy.

The US voters. A sad thing to have to become united on. And to think it came about with the mandate attitude he spoke of when re-elected.


The US , like all,needs to be kept in check integrity wise by other peace loving allies. It also needs its own constitution enforced before professing to introduce a like system to others.

Never know. Maybe there will be some positive peaceful alliances and ideas to come out of this. Stranger things have happened. It is amazing to me anything gets done right! Having a success in politics is often an unplanned consequence , similar to some science discoveries and artistic endeavors.

When I first heard the term political science degree during college years, I hoped it meant more creativity for the good of society. I was curious then and still ignorant of what is taught. I would be interested to see the classes if there are any students that want to talk.

Politics in the US seems to be focused on the phycology (sp)of fund raising and telling people what they want to hear A bit like fortune telling traits used in reverse

Hi, Abbi. I mainly post here as well these days- my blog is really only used for sharing recipes, photos & stuff like that, and is read more by RL life friends who comment in person than anything else. Though I don't find as much free time for posting journal entries as I have in the past, this is my main place.

And it's good to see you back around here!

I've been keeping a really close eye on some local political issues, especially a potential deal between ComEd (our electric company) and the Illinois State's Attorney's office that may possibly reduce electric rates. ComEd had initially announced a massive increase, doubling most people's bills. Last summer, we paid on average $300 a month to cool this apartment, and we don't use electricity willy-nilly; people with low incomes are going into massive debt to pay their electric bills! Apparently, a new state agency has been organized to negotiate electric rates and buy from the least expensive supplier, rather than purchasing electricity at auction, like they've been doing.
