It seems to have more of an impact on policy when critical views come from the EU. The US citizens reacted the same way but were not taken seriously. They were taken as Liberals, non-Bush votes
IMO it is just as important for other countries to speak up as it is the US voters.

Thanks for those links.
Just who is looking at all this info?
The original problems were reported to have had nothing to do with lack of information, it was lack of people to read and interpet it!
Are the US citizens the enemy? Now that I think of it.....
There was a news report last week on how several persons that the FBI has been watching (suspected terrorists connections )easily gained citizenship this month! This is SO irrational.

yep ...
we got Mr Bush Jnr in town this week, the security around him is paranoia gone mad. I understand that when you are in a job like that you do need security but it has just gone overboard this time. I've experienced Presedential visits before & the security was not even on a comparable scale (although this time round I have not had any Secret Service Agents point their guns at me).

Well now, that's good news no one pointed a weapon at you!
So you went to the protest today? The crowd estimates are from 70,000-200,000 quite a span!

not me ... i wuz on baby sitting duty today (my niece)
and to be fair the incident with secret service men pointing their M10's at me was last time Clinton wuz in town ... I was trying to drive into the driveway of the building he was staying in (the american ambassadors residence in regents park). even though i had made it through three uk police checkpoints to get that far they still kept their guns pointing at me while credentials were checked (for the 4th time).

I hate hearing in the news that Bushs reply to the UK protesters is;
You think we would be better off with Sadam in power?
You think the world is Not safer now than before?
Comes across like a Sadam or Me thing!Nobody was *for* Sadam - Good Grief!
There is a whole lot in between the two ,not to meantion Sadam still lives! I think he would prefer to stay on the Iraq topic rather than get into other thorny issues.
No meantion of the World Trade agreements other than to say he will not be changing his mind. Some of those protesters have other issues with him which are never addressed! I was hoping the UK would complain about the Brits being held without charges at Guantanamo and the request to not show our flag draped coffins as the UK does.
Insulting isn't it?

“Bushs reply to the UK protesters is...”, he also added (words to the effect of) “that until recently the citizens or Iraq could not of held an equivalent demonstration. Can you imagine how Military commanders in Baghdad would react if 100,000+ people gathered & marched through Baghdad
"Brits being held without charges at Guantanamo" I do belive that the leader of liberal party intended to raise this matter with him but I have not heard of other comments made
