Hello all you (good days)(bad days) DMN's!
The time thing is bugging me too. SOMEONE'S site I visited has got a nifty little clock thing so you can see what day/time you & other hooters are on; I'll try & find it & let you know. In the meantime, maybe it would be helpful for all of us to list where we live in the RL world; I'll start it off:
Terri --- FRANCE GMT+1hr(winter)(maybe gmt+2 or just GMT in summer, not sure.)
I REALLY must learn GuideML too, I've been putting it off for ages; I too will need HUGE amounts of hand-holding, & will have to wait for a really day or there will be weeping, wailing & gnashing of teeth!!!
Visited a very good MS website last night (stumbled on one not full of nonsense purely by luck!) It's at www.mult.sclerosis.org I signed the guest book & briefly mentioned h2g2 & a possible De Myelin Nation. Abbi, I seriously think you ought to register that name; it really is BRILLIANT before someone pinches it!
Left a message for you, Abbi, on the "many thanks Abbi" bit; anyway, for now a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday (or is it today??) to Abbi, & a great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to kasese for tomorrow (or is it today?) What a lot of Sagittarians I seem to be getting to know! I know sod all about the characteristics of them except that the one I live with says he "doesn't believe in all that sort of thing" but knows he's on the cusp "and I'm definitely a Saggitarian, not a Capricorn,Jesus was a Capricorn & I don't believe in him either." Hmm, rather a contradiction in terms there I think!
Just for the record, I'm a believer in the basic types of zodiac personalities (but have lost my "guiebook" to these; would welcome more info); don't even glance at daily horoscopes in papers etc. (generalisations for gullible masses in my opinion) & I'm also a cusp, Virgo/Libra; think of myself as definitely Libra (indecisive, lazy, but generally OK, definitely NOT well balanced but constantly searching for it) but with a bit of Virgo (love lists & emptying ashtrays) Sept.23rd,1955; time unknown;place Birmingham,UK.
Oh yes,god etc. I believe there is "something" bigger than all of us feeble bits of dna, & a convenient form of address for me is god (small g) As for Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha etc. I'm sure they existed & were all very special people with a lot of good advice, but the trouble that's been started in their name would horrify them. So I would I suppose be atheist/agnostic? If pushed Buddhist/Pagan.
What about the rest of you?
All for now, have a nice day, evening, weekend etc!
Terri.

Love your #9! It was NOT my birthday .I was being saying "Any minute",its actually a few months yet. I have weird views on birthdays! I am irreverant cause I DO NOT know my real birthday! I am sure, I am an ARIES. Preturbs me when people get too grumbly about birthdays, it's not the number, it is about celebrating that U were born!

AH, see you shouldn't joke about these things, you might end up with a lot of unwanted post! Anyway, at the very least you seem now to have 2 of the damn things, your real one (yes, you're right, you must have been born at some stage, obviously having trouble remembering that far back!!! )& now your "official"hootoo one!
Did you take a look at the "neuropathy" entry in the Guide (it's in Life, health & healing section)? It was one of the 1st things I looked at when I joined, I thought then it didn't tell the whole story but was anxious to get on to more "fun" things; however I did write a reply to a very unhappy researcher who didn't have a page to reply to, no response, still no page, poor soul must be despairing reading that.
On re-reading the Guide Entry, quite frankly I am pretty apalled, to the extent I think it should be pulled & replaced by something realistic. It is TOTALLY skewed towards alcohol related causes of neuropathic conditions, as we know this is far from the whole story. On investigating further (ie: nosy old me again!) it becomes obvious why the author "Mr Monday Morning" -- on the Medical team, for God's sake!! is speaking from his own, very limited, extremely sad but very bitter experience.) Go to his home space & journals & see his previous attempt "Alconeuropathy" to see what I mean. This is one veryweird, unpleasant person on a personal hobbyhorse trying to scare the s***t out of people. I feel VERY strongly about this, we're starting something HEALTHY in the real sense, if people read this sort of crap they could get seriously upset.
I'm quite willing to go to the h2g2 powers that be about this (nicely of course!); but obviously it would be good to have a 2nd opinion & maybe some back up. I'd be happy to write a balanced entry to replace it, perhaps a collaborative entry from De Myelin Nation?
Anyway, sorry for my rant, please take a good look & let me know what you think (perhaps on my home space might be best)
Phew!!!! That's enough for tnight I reckon
Terri
