look, ask at your landmark theatres in denver; most likely to be run by them. also, you can ask your local video rental place to get a copy. plus, there is a companion book which you can ask your local library to acquire.
another movie recco: "man on the train" be warned it may be one that makes you pensive.

Not so with Friedman, for whom the idea of a shining Baghdad on a hill is worth pursuing even as the Bush team shows signs of wanting nothing more than to keep a lid on the place for a few more months before bailing out. Friedman thinks building a "progressive" Iraq will justify the entire enterprise -- even, he implies, the deceptions about the reasons for going to war.
But that isn't the package that was sold to the American people.

Amazing commentary in Friedmans coloum ;explanation of the war and how OK he is with it. Quite "matter of factly"
I was wondering where the commentaries were on his commentary

I wonder when Muslims in general and Arabs in particular - even those who are nominally so (there are at not a few such persons, male and female) - will be given the opportunity to write about, for example, remaking Israel or on the 'problems' of Jewish 'fundamentalism.' And, more importantly, whether such 'alternate' authors will be given the credibility and publication that is repeatedly afforded to the Jewish and other 'experts' on Islam, experts, whom, it is repeatedly implied, know Islam and its practice better than _any, at all, of its very own practitioners!
Perhaps, then, that is why there is no commentary at all.
I am astonished at the scale of the deception when Bush flies over Iraq and we are told he did so to show the Iraqi people that they are free! Or, now that no evidence of WMD is found all he need do is say that he is convinced that such exist (along the lines of the 'Emperor Having No Clothes,' I suppose!
So, this is the world we live in.

If you haven't seen this already, do take a look at the website maintained by John Pilger. He's been a voice of truth for a long time, along the lines of Noam Chomsky and the excellent American historian Howard Zinn... (Oh, just, fyi, at least two of the three are nominally, at least, from the Jewish tradition.)

This is from Tonsil Revenge ,it is entertaining and very interesting way of putting this bit of history together. Ram Dass is mentioned along with many familiar concepts that have grown out of all mentioned. Facinating

remarkable theory. achievment has many parents, no?
I do think it is - just a bit - ethnocentric though purporting to exist for and within a larger, inclusive mindset. food for thought, nonetheless...
perhaps, you might think, I am too skeptical and have read and absorbed and seen too much history written by the victors and the elite?

No. I do not hink that.
I find your demeanor gentle and very easy to listen to, even with the hardest of topics.
I thought it was an interesting perpective.
Some of the connections like the green party were no doubt speculation. I should read again before making such a statement. It did seem a bit like the "Forrest Gump" of *German liberals*. Sort of an oxymoron in my past thinking! Although there are parts of German society, in this small time frame ,that seem to be more free than in the land of the free. I am not making a further judgement on that at this time
Only a perpective though, as with all.
Some truths, somewhat entertaining.
*comforted by skepticism*
IMO Mainstream history which educates the young in any nation was & is written by the victors and the elite

The 160,000 year old skull in Africa astounds me.
Depresses me humans have had that much time and still act like animalistic domesticated human doings, discarding notions of a peacefully inclusive society. We are not actively striving for the best in ourselves and each other.
Technologically has come come so far, without the "Right Stuff" on board. Seems to have meant doom in the past. *bad pun*

a head full too! before he got himself into all that fundamentalist doo-doo - with that not so well written text - and now, in more recent times, Rushdie appears to taken to the themes that make him a writer worthy of consideration, namely the questioning of authority of all sorts.
an aside, read John Mortimer, if you are able to; he appears to have accurately predicted the predelictions of New Labour in his text, "Paradise Postponed."

"fundamentalist doo-doo"
*got a chuckle*
A phrase also worthy of tears.
I believe it was the BR ,a 70 something lady placed an ad. She wanted a smart man,a reader and a true companion. She rightly figured she would want to by-pass the non readers. She then wrote a book about her experiences. She claims the book was not the point, and I believe that. I do not recall the name, I saw her on Charlie Rose. Charlie could not quite get over himself , the topic or his blushing
I will follow up on your suggestion, it sounds vaguely familar.
I hope you are well.

This is a wonderful (short) interview with Mortimer.
He agrees with my soon to be borther-in -law, judge.
Murderers are easier to deal with than divorces in court.
He has some great quotes about it.
