Hello Mr Singing Librarian Owl
Bookmouse Started conversation Oct 13, 2005
Have read your lyrics - I think a library-related musical could be on the cards!! Also enjoyed your journal! Hope your ILLs are not being too stressful!
Make sure you have a break!
I hope I am doing this right!
I seem to be addicted to ! marks (!)

Hello! Why a Pear? But then, I suppose you could ask 'why an owl'?
I'm glad you enjoyed the lyrics. I haven't written anything incriminating in my journal have I?

Pear because it rhymes with Claire (this name started at Uni). No, I don't think there was anything incrimiating, fear not!

Mmmm, .
I must make some and bring it in to the
Library of Doom (as I'm afraid it is known here on h2g2) some time soon. I haven't baked for ages.

Lunchtime. Sadly I didn't have any cake, but I did have some very nice sandwiches. I have only just read your reply to my post from last October! Sorry. I still haven't written any entries. Maybe one day. I might go on a
hunt. I am having an interesting conversation with Suzanne about plasters and Paul being a leopard disguised as a bear.

BTW yes I think you should bake some cake. I would volunteer also, but the last cake I made was in 1998 and was the worst cake ever in the history of cakes.

A leopard disguised as a bar? Paul? Oh dear...
Hello Mr Singing Librarian Owl
David B - Singing Librarian Owl Posted Mar 29, 2006
Oops. Bar's even worse than bear...

Bookmouse Posted Mar 30, 2006
Hmmm. I think life would be difficult as a bar, and possibly not very interesting, depending on what type of bar you were.
Today's discussion is about bread...and renewals.

It is a wonderful addition to the list of smilies, isn't it? I'm hoping for a next!

Over a year later, and still no cardigan smiley - or did I miss it?
At least we have . Very useful.

We need a smiley.

This has nothing to do with moorhens, but can you tell me what the etiquette is for posting to a conversation, such as the current conversation at Lil's? Some people seem to announce themsleves with, e.g. [LP], and some don't. Is there a rule? Is it rude not to? Have I misunderstood the usage of e.g. [LP]?

That's a calling card, if you haven't got the time or inclination or whatever to post something more substantial. Mine is [] to represent Singing Librarian. Posh ones use { } instead of [ ]

Going back to a much earlier post (owls and pears)... How did you discover that you are a tawny owl? Was there a particular reason for being a tawny owl rather than, say, a barn owl? And why were you disturbed by this discovery?
Can you do an impersonation (sound) of an owl? My dad does quite a good one.
