What orchard, particularly? (I'm American, you'll have to help me out smiley - winkeye... I confuse easily smiley - biggrin).

Guess not... I actually meant the Apple OS/Feedback fora. Non-mac users are the only ones who don't know about the goings-on of the orchard and the ivory handled revolver... when you get a mac, email me and I'll fill you in. smiley - smiley

No, I'm lucky if I can figure out how to turn my computer on! I don't even own one, I use my flatmates. I do like apples though, they were a favorite of DNA too.

ahhh, that's too bad. when you get one, you'll experience a euphoria nothing else can bring. truly amazing hard/software. very addictive. DNA always rooted for the cool companies...

That he did. I had the weirdest dream last night where I was having tea with him and Lewis Carroll. Hmm.

What nationality are you? I think I mentioned I'm from the U.S., in the lower peninsula of Michigan.

spiffy dream! what kind of tea was it?

i'm from Canada... where everyone lives in igloos and canoes/kayaks to work and hunts for food. we also have pet polar bears and drink weird beer. I love it. I'm in this hick city people call "Calgary" which is in a province thingy (like a state) called "Alberta". lots of beef here. it's good beef too.

btw, my apologies (in advance) if i come off as a condescending snot. inherited trait.

Canada, eh? I make it up to Stratford for their festival every once in a while. Being from Northern Michigan, I watch the Red Green Show all the time (belong to the fanclub).

It was Earl Grey with lemon, my favorite breakfast tea. Actually, I think Lewis Carrol was drinking iced chai. Go figure.

I'll forgive your being a condescending snot, if you forgive me being a hopeless ditz.smiley - winkeye

neato... I haven't made it to the stratford festival just yet, but I imagine it's much fun. classical stuff doesn't catch me so much as modern whatnot. it's the de-humanizing nature of being a notwerk admin, I suppose.

earl grey is a wonderful tea, though chamomile will always be numero uno in my books. i have a cupboard stocked with different teas, and an entire shelf just for chamomile variations. i think i've got a tea for just about every mood and type of weather. i'm not sure what i'd do without it. i'll give the iced chai a shot next time i head to starbucks. it sounds good.

wow, we're quite the combo! hopeless ditz and condescending snot. should be very interesting! ah, and you are, indeed forgiven. have a good night/day/whatever it is there.

btw, how did you get the nickname "YankeeShoes"? is it just because you're a yankee and you have a lot of shoes? i got mine back in high school because i refused to drink the water until it was filtered, which i had to do myself.

Chamomile is my favorite night smiley - tea. Iced chai is reminiscent of liquid pumpkin pie which sounds dreadful but isn't.

I saw "The Importance of Being Earnest" at Stratford my senior year (Hamlet was sold out). It was faboo.

Yankee-shoes is something I came up with because I never have good ideas when I'm actually trying. Yankee to let all the Brits know I'm from over the drink, and shoes because I was traveling all summer (25 states in 8 weeks). Allthough I wasn't walking, it sounded cuter than Yankee-van or Yankee-rider (which could have been taken entirely the wrong way). It's 3 am here, and I am suffering from insomnia caused by strong china tea.

Your filtered water story reminds me of the movie "Signs" smiley - biggrin

mmmm liquid pumpkin pie. lol, it actually sounds good.

what does "faboo" mean? is it more like "taboo" or "fabulous"? a combination of the two?

woah, 25 states in 8 weeks. craziness! that's quit the roadtrip. if I go anywhere, I usually walk or fly. driving in foreign areas isn't exactly my thing because i have a tendency to speed quite a bit.

for real now, i'm going to bed. just past 2 am... 21 hours since I woke up. long day.

bon soir.

I forgot to ask... why signs? I've never seen it, but wouldn't mind knowing... thanks

Faboo is Fabulous!

In "Signs" Mel Gibson's little girl has issues with water, always needing fresh water, because she thinks all the water is contaminated. It all works out in the end!

I just got back from a two hour canoe expedition and should get off the internet.

now i understand... i suppose i'm a lot like that little girl. i never drink unfiltered water. back in high school it was because the water had so much iron in it, but now it's just a habit.

canoing! awesome! i prefer white water kayaking myself.

i need to make use of your expertise in these fora... i was trying to make a link to an outside webpage, and used A184763 as a guide... i filled everything in, but the tags still showed up when i previewed the message. is there a trick to outside linking that I'm not aware of? tia.

We are talking a link to a non-guide site, right? If you could copy out how you're typing it I can help you better, smiley - smiley

I saw a template sort of thing on A184763 and used "...text..." as the template, filled in the URL as "http://discussions.info.apple.com/[email protected]@.3bb9b931" (the URL also got cut at the first "@"), the title blank and text as "the blue hair cutter bar". I'm not sure what I did wrong, but when I previewed the message, the post was naked (all the tags were showing and the URL was cut). does that make any sense?
