... I shall visit Ohio and make a point of meeting you.
Then I can give you a stiff talking to and if you are really, really unlucky I shall give you a good traditional English Boarding School spanking

But the sheep don't help!
Time for my bed 4am!!
Anyway, I know that with you and me, as well as many others, shouting all the good stuff about h2g2 from the rooftops then happier days are ahead.

Was it because I have a superior grasp of UnderGuide history?
One of these days, I'm going to go to wherever it is you live (oh, I'll find out) and hand you a pop quiz on UG history. Then you'll be in for a traditional Ohioan-Public-School-verbal-attack-until-you-develop-a-nervous-tic.

Sleep tight. It's only 11:00 PM here. I have the whole night ahead of me.
I think reenergizing , however it comes about, is a step in the right direction. And of course my rightful election as Vice President Don't worry by the way, I would hold your supporting another candidate against you. And there won't be spiders in your bed tonight at all.

I don't mind s. There is a rather large one living on the rather large Cheese Plant in the bathroom; I have named him Harold
But cobwebs sticking to me are enough to send me into a screaming girlie Fortunately Harold is big enough to step across the branches so doesn't bother spinning webs! I have no idea how he catches lunch though Suffice to say the cats leave him well alone!
I actually live in the bonny city of Edinburgh, which means I get to go to lots of Scotmeets - the last one was a week ago A6547115
We try and have at least 4 a year
As for memory of the UG - I did quite well to form complete sentences last night since it was nearly 4am and I had had a bottle of And I knew who you were referring to so my memory isn't that bad. But I did run out of energy to post anymore, rather than give up - I am a Leo, stubborn to the last

Ah, poo, I missed this thread.
Every three months? Do you have time for anything else?
Pisces myself... which means I can swim well... Perhaps.
I'm going to steal the end of your nickname (spreading good cheer) alright? That's the sort of thing I want to see. I'll probably add something about sheep or Ohio to make it look original...

By the way, I liked your post on DD's thread. Something you just wanna conk a bunch of people's heads together and explain that they're doing this to themselves. They're letting it happen... it's not an issue of a bad wind blowin', it's an issue of personal responsibility. The sun will rise tomorrow, and it's their decision if they want to get up and help build an unconventional guide to life the universe and everything whilst allowing themselves to have fun.
(that's me venting - I refuse to get involved in those threads)

I totally agree - hopefully we have seen the end of the squabbling - until the next time. Despite what people think this has been going on ever since I have been around and will continue to happen. Same things happen in workplaces, colleges and any place where a group of people are thrown together. And when there is a quiet spell it allows the staff to work on positive improvements to the site and then people just moan about those changes! Get a grip people!!!
As for the Scottish Researchers Group meets - actually there is very little time for anything else No sooner has one finished then another is in the planning. (see the new edition of - my first Post article! )
But I have to say this (and I do many many times) it is one of the positive side effects of h2g2. Complete strangers with nothing in common but a website, meet up and have a great day/night out a few times a year.
We have Jamie that is a phycisist, fords is a legal secretary, I am a Veterinary Nurse, DD is a politician, FC is in media, Zagreb does office work, and I have no idea what EV does - not to mention all the other reprobates What an odd bunch we make, but it works - and we do it so well
With Scotland being a small country then we have an easier chance of meeting up (or perhaps we are just a bunch of drunks!) but I wish other researchers could make such a regular thing of meets. Still, travelling 100s of miles would prove difficult for many of the researcher groups to do it regularly.
We are just lucky

Sometimes squabbling can have positive results, of course. Sometimes it allows the site to grow and define itself.
I wouldn't say this is one of those cases though This is just no good.
I've never been to a meet. Never really have any desire too either Does sound like an interesting aspect of the site though.
Now I must excuse myself because it's election night in the US and my ballot measures are falling behind in the polls (or rather, they're being defeated in a landslide and they have been doing so for a while...) so I must mope.
Key: Complain about this post
