By the way, I have a chance to go down to Tennessee and see Gomer Pyle and Barney Fife (well, okay the actors) while I meet some family this weekend. I'm thinking about it.

Really? I met Goober once. But not Gomer. It was in the early 70's at a Jackson Days thing.

I read that Barney was ill. I sort of thought he died. I should keep better track of hillbilly icons.
