Rubbish Hobbies
Posted Jan 13, 2003
My current favourite hobby is collecting labels from pop bottles. I paste them into a hardback book and cross reference them flavour (cola, orange etc) to style (regular, diet, sugar free etc). Some have promotional offers printed on them, or special prices printed. Some even appear to be printed in Turkey.
I say it's for a graphic design project, but the fact that I get excited when I see a new label makes me very sad.
Nevertheless I encourage everyone to have a crap collection like this.. it's cheaper than pokemon. My friend Nire used to collect different sugar sachets.
What is this strange desire to 'collect em all' ? :>

Zucchini - The Internet Verdict
Posted Sep 30, 2002
Over the past week a friend has made me take various personality tests on the internet. Combining all the results together reveals that I am a Mastermind geek liaison with an IQ of 118 with high paranoid, schizotypal and narcissist tendancies whos ideal date would be Princess Garnet from Final Fantasy IX. A further test confirmed that I am definately male.

Stop England - I Want To Get Off
Posted Sep 25, 2002
Upon hearing from my landlady that she is thinking of selling the house, my heart sinks. This is bad news. I don't think I can face moving house _again_. So here's the plan: I'm going to sell everything I own and buy a one way ticket to Japan. I'll probably get deported or maybe I'll get lucky (there must be lots of demand for an english-only speaking pleb with no skills). Hmm, maybe I shouldn't sell _everything_; my shoes and passport might be handy.

Japanese Rock Chicks
Posted Sep 6, 2002
Having just played Jet Set Radio Future, I have been introduced to a further two Japanese bands: Guitar Vader and Cibo Matto. Add Ex-Girl from the list above and Japan scores a hat-trick of cute weird music, all in the space of a few months. More! I want more!
I've retrieved my port-folio from college today: it's been lying there few a few years now and I kept forgetting to pick it up. Seeing all my old illustration work again felt like being reunited with a lost child. Not that I've ever lost any children but you know what I mean. Hopefully I'll get round to scanning it all in and link it to the Jan Doyle Band web site (JDB being the only SynthIndustrialGothExperimentalSoundtrack band in Doncaster).
Thought for the day: Most people who look stupid _are_ stupid. Most people who look intelligent _are_ stupid. In Doncaster, anyway.
