This is the Message Centre for Terran

the curse of the twenty-first century.

For over nine years I was a cashier in a drive thru window and I got so fed up with people stopping there who would talk on their cell phones in front of me when they should have been conducting business that I resolved never to get one of the infernal little things and to this date I still haven't (which puts me in a quickly shrinking pool of people). My quote from those days that I still stand by
"Cell Phones are the curse of the twenty-first century".

Forgive my confusion, I'm sure I should know, but please remind me what the message is for?

I'm doing OK except for my finances smiley - winkeye
I read on your PS
Hang around H2G2 long enough and you'll have a quote attributed to you somewhere - stay a bit longer and someone else will remove it smiley - biggrin
I've been hanging around here about nine years and I got thinking
what would I want people to remember that I said.
and I came up with the quote
"Cell phones are the curse of the twenty-first century."
not to memorable perhaps but it ties in with my personality.
Also on my PS I connected Genesis 9:13-15 with the h2g2 Don't panic badge.
So it reads: Don't panic, God has put his bow in the heavens.

smiley - rofl Okay I like that one. I did used to have a fear of mobiles, but I've come to think they're necesary. Still would be nice to be remembered!

"Don't panic, God has put his bow in the heavens" - sounds interesting. What does it mean?

Genesis reads:
then God told Noah and his sons: I am making a covenant with you and your descendants...I solemnly promise never to send anothr flood to kill everything. As a sign and evidence of this covenant with all living things I have placed my bow in the clouds, it is a sign of my permanent promise..."
What it means is no matter how badly we mess up, the almighty God will never send complete ecocide on this planet again (except the fire at the end of time).
So relax, don't panic, we will get through this.
