I am invisible

I hide behind a screen name which is not mine. I am not good-looking, so people do not go out of their way to look at me. I speak, but no one listens. They don't want to hear it, and they don't want to hear it from me. I write, but no one reads my words. Live or die, no one will know, and few will care. I am one of the many, another hand reaching out, another mouth to feed. I think, therefore I am, but if I have no importance, then I am no one at all.
If anyone out there has next week's winning Lotto numbers, please send them to me now so I can buy my ticket in advance.
Thank you and good night.

this one time at band camp...

The University of Southern California Trojan Marching Band shared the off-campus facility with my high school marching band in San Diego. One night, the college band members organized the brilliant coordinated toilet flush throughout the entire boys' dorm. It stopped up the pipes, caused a huge flood of toilet water on the second floor, and none of the toilets worked for another two weeks. My high school band got blamed for the crime. Neither band was welcome to use that facility ever again.

moving

We just moved from an apartment to a duplex just down the street. Just down the street! My Koi believed it was a distance of two million miles and thrashed and tore themselves up so badly that they are losing flesh three days later. My husband doesn't care - he's used to goldfish dying within the first week, so me keeping Koi alive for four years is something of a surprise to him. He also finds it ironic that I am letting my Koi die a slow, painful death, whereas I used to go fishing and catch and kill perfectly healthy fish not so many years ago. I tried to explain to him that I didn't have personal relationships with THOSE fish, but I certainly have personal relationships with my Koi, and just killing them and putting them out of their misery will result in nightmares of the fish coming back and accusing me of murder. I've had Budgies do this to me before. So these Koi wil die on their own and I will give them a proper burial and bless and offer their souls to a higher power.
