Hi Katrine!
It is very nice to meet you.
I guess you already know I am a single Mom of seven, grandmother of one. (Unless you want to count all of my animal babies, then you would be in for a huge count
I work for Canada Post, as well as my landlord - as a farm hand.
Anytime you are around, I would be glad to chat.

Lady Karen I am an Aunty to two nieces, one will be 20 and the other one will be 15 this year.
I really loved looking after them when they were babies and toddlers. The call me Aunty Kate, and at first I was called Aunty Cake.
I used to live in a rural area in Scotland called Barrhill. They had both sheep/cattle farms. The sheep used to look at me when I was walking to the railway station. My cousin lives in a rural area in Wales called Cnwch Coch and she has told me of tales of people waking up with sheep in bed with them.
It is must be very nice to be a grandmother. When I was looking after my neices when they were babies they sound like they were gurgling in a foreign language.

In february, when it was so blasted cold here, I had a couple of lambs in the house, and they slept in a bucket next to my bed, so I didn't have to go traipsing through the house to feed them at night. That way I figured that the kids wouldn't wake-up when it was feeding time.
It got to the point where I had to cover my entire bed in plastic and foam mattress, because the lambs thought they should be sleeping with me
Thankfully, all 10 orphans now sleep in a pen outside
We have had ducks and s in the bathtub, a calf on my son's bed, lambs taking over the house, a full-grown sheep in the porch, and a donkey who thinks he SHOULD get to be in the house.
Our farm is not necessarily typical, by any stretch of the imagination......

Hi Lady Karen I am very sorry it has taken me so long in replying. It reminds when I used to travel by bus I used to see the lambs in blue plastic coats. In my village in Scotland the lambing season was a very stressful time and it involved very long hours. I used to be able to get goats milk from a farm nearby. I like it when it has been freshly milked and it's still warm.

I'm hoping to get at least one milk goat this summer. It would sure help with the extra orphans I have in my care. It would be way less expensive than having to buy milk replacer all the time.
I also want my own milk cow. Having so many kids living at home means I am ALWAYS going to the store for extra milk. It would also eventually mean I would have meat for the table if I bred her.....
Anyway, I need to get my s off to school before going out myself this morning. So, I should say goodbye for now.
I will catch you soon.

I have had unpastuerised milk from a Jersey/Friesan cow in Scotland and it takes alot nicer than the milk that you get in the stores. I was on allergy free diet and I was recommend goat's milk. I hope you will get your milk goat. The weather here is dry but cold but sometimes we get alot of rain and wind. It will be until June before the weather improves. I love the very warm and dry weather.
