darakat - Now with pockets! Started conversation Dec 18, 2003
Now you would think that as a leftist agnostic green you would think that I would not stand up to such an idea as Christmas. It empowers many of the things I absolutely hate in this world, many people would stereotypically say. Of course you all know I am not a relay big green. I leave lights on, I don't recycle everything and I buy stuff from commercail giants (but mostly becuase there is no one else I can buy stuff off), in fact I am some what of a hypocrite in that respect. But I am not actually one because I am a part of what is called a faction. Thats right people this is my long awaited Rant on Factions In Parties.
Now factions are useful, don't let the pretext elude you into thinking I am against factions. No they are all part of the wonderful system we call democracy. Of course being (one of three) democratic nations with compulsory voting (you can always write "I don't vote " on the ticket if you like) I actually feel that makes the process a hole lot more democratic then it would over-wise be. But let us get on with what factions actually are.
Let us take say the Greens. They have many factions and they follow the same paten of most parties in having at least 5 factions. They are as follows:
The Red Greens:
The red greens are of course red. They are communists and don't mind admitting the fact. They are also labour left rejects. They are in the greens part for one and only one reason, because saying they are in the greens party gets them votes from those people who know absolutely nothing about politics but like to vote green because they think it will help save the environment, or koalas, or something like that. The red greens however do tie the party line somewhat in case they get a spilt and suddenly find themselves like the Socialist Alliance who are now a dying party. However as soon as being "green" no longer gets votes the red greens will leave. They are always authoritative and the more authoritative greens reside here.
The Green Greens:
These are the stereotypical green. They like chaining themselves to trees, running under bulldozers and of course making Labour and Liberals everywhere run for cover. In recent years the green greens have become more numerous, but internal thinking and philosophy has lead to the creation of the yellow green. They are generally pretty leftist and also have a few of the better defined polices.
The Yellow Greens:
Slightly less green than the green greens, but a lot more green than the blue greens. The Yellow greens are the new guys on the block, They think that the Greens as a hole can become a better party, and tend to want reform to make the party into a lean mean political machine. They tend to be leftism and also slightly liberalist. They have helped the greens become a National Party. The green greens however will say it was all there work and the yellow greens are just a new born that has come across because there wasn't one.
The Blue Greens:
Right wing greens. They believe that the environmental can be solved by market forces. Which I think is pretty stupid since most (if not all) market forces rely on completely fictional things. The best way to prove this theory is to go down to the stock market and say "What? Hacker said what? The markets going to collapse! SELL SELL SELL!!!" in a really loud voice. However they do have one redeeming feature which is of course the fact that there green. However many say that they exist on the same terms as the Red Greens.
The Nonaligned Greens:
These are the greens who like the greens. They don't go into all that politics stuff. In over words there all conservative and very much non factional. A faction like them exists in every know party anywhere and there is absolutely nothing that can be done about them.
Now of course one may ask what does this mean? What has this go to do with anything? Well as I have told you people many many times I am a green, so it is terribly important to mean so I can vote for someone I like and I know at least pretends to share my political views. Well the greens in australia have only just secured a national party, most of the rest of the time they have existed as "the Tasmanian greens, the ACT greens, the NSW greens, the VIC greens, the QWD greens, the WA greens and the SA greens. And that is where most of the fights in the green party have happened. However thats all in the past (well I hope it is) now there is a national party, but you never know.
Now what faction does darakat belong to? Well I have just one thing to say about the Answer to that wounderfuly complicated question.
Enjoy The Trees, While You Still Can.

Apprently one of my freinds showed another one of my freinds this post. Another one of my freinds thinks this should give me reason for concern. I doesn't. Not in any way. Its a rant, its ment to be unsourced, unsolieted, and as unfactual as a very unfactual thing. I whould like to say this now:
I know absolutly nothing about the greens party in terms of what actual factions there are this rant is simply about percived and noticable factions in People, not in the actul party. I do not discliam any reseposability for this rant being in any way really like real life. I do not think that anyone else cares enougth about my rants to make anything of them anyway. And as I have made comment on my H2G2 page anyone who wants to talk to me about anything about my political, social, religious, phonomological, overstated, or underated views can complain to me rather than making backdoor deals to say, get me to admit I am a meber of a certain party. I would like to say this to the person who I won't admit my mebership to, look through my room, my wallet, my emails, you can spam me, abuse me, block me, overstate anything you think you have on me, but I might actuly be telling the truth about not being a member of the party that this rant is going on about. I am not actuly in any way nor have I ever been a meber of the green party.
