Hi loup
I see you haven't posted for a couple of days so I'm not sure if you are around. But if you are, can you help with the following?
I have a friend on h2g2 who lives in France and needs to find a (preferably very cheap) ISP. She has had free AOL access I think but is losing this today. She needs to maintain contact with h2 as this is one of her main supports while going through a very difficult time, but is very strapped for cash.
Can you suggest any ISPs, especially ones that will allow sign up and access without paying in advance?
My friend also would like to find an ISP that has English translation as her French isn't that great for computing terms, and she may not be getting the best deal or help with her access as a result.
Thanks, and Best Wishes for the New Year
kea.
ps I've posted on Ask h2g2 as well, but haven't been able to find a French Researchers page as yet.

for the delay... I am not very much around at the moment unfortunately... Hopefully my online time will increase soon...
For your question, i can't answer just yet as i live in the UK and use a british access provider... I haven't checked Ask H2G2 to see if you had any response there... but if not, you might get an accurate answer from Whisky U180644 as he lives in a french speaking country near France... and he has helped a british researcher who lives in France before so he might/should be able to help for that problem as well...
Let me know how it's going...?!...
I'm thinking of two more researchers who could also help if needed... just in case... so things should be alright eventually...
Talk soon...
Happy New Year

Thanks loup!!
Whiskey replied briefly to my Ask post. And it seems like my friend might be able to keep her AOL, at least for a while. What I might do is post back here if she has to change - would you be able to help with translation of the Freeserve/Wanadoo page sign up pages (which are in French)? Or recommend another researcher?
My sense is that it's not so urgent now (although I guess that could change). I'm not going to be on much over the next 3 or 4 days - just checking in really. But I'll point the others in the direction of this thread in case I can't get back for a bit.
Thanks for your help
Hope you are having fun with the festivities. I didn't realise that you live in the UK (a daft assumption that you live in France just because you are French ... you are French right? )

Yep... I am french alright... but it was an easy mistake to make thinking that i was living in France and not in the UK... there are a few french researchers on here living in France and contributing to the site thanks to the WWW...
As for translating, yep, no problem... Anytime...
Talk soon..
