Hey there Loup!
Nice page you have!
Look, I've been quite puzzled lately, I guess you can help me: what's that Digibox stuff all about? What is Digibox anyway? I tried to find out, but you know h2g2, when you start looking for something you always get distracted and end up looking at something else .
Speak to you later,
Toy Box.

hi... [again as i've just posted a reply to your previous post on jm jarre...]
re: THE digibox mistery...
it is a TV set-top that we get when we're cable customers with Telewest...
it's supposed to be used only for watching digital cable TV and telewest own interactive sites...
but thanks to a link to h2g2 on an email we can access h2g2 and all the DNA and BBC sites...
[we could access others but TW has put some firewalls up stopping us doing that... they can't stop us accessing BBC sites because there are lots of bbc -tailored for TW interactive- sites there and the beginning of the addresses is the same... you know www.bbc.co.uk...]
the closest description to it would be webTV...
the main issue was around the fact that before digibox users could not access long conversations... then we found a way (using the 360 trick) which was better than nothing... well it was an improvement... and now we have this "light" skin which seems to be the answer to our problem...
obviously there are things that a computer can do but a digibox can't but that's a tiny inconvenience that a trip to the nearest cybercaf' time to time can deal with...
accessing long conversations was the main issue... and i'm glad to say WAS now...
the good thing tho' is that it brought people together... and we had lot of support from computer users even so they might not have been sure what was a digibox either...
i might have to update my page and the "friends of LD" space soon now... hehe... a small price to pay for such great news [the light skin...]
talk later...

Hey there, !
Just a quick question actually: what does the following expression mean: "you don't want to go on flogging a dead donkey"?
Talk to you soon.
Toy Box.

hi toy box...
"like flogging a dead donkey" would mean wasting your time trying to convince or explain something to someone who doesn't want to know or listen...
talk soon...

hi toy box...
depends on how it was said..
i just realised that the expression i heard the most often is "like flogging a dead horse"...
the donkey being well known for refusing to walk anyway...
mmmmm... maybe if it was referring to your brother they should use the carrot... sometimes it works better than the stick...
talk later...

Hey there !
May you help me with a guide entry? I can't seem to get it quite neat. Its location is A927614. It deals with the Fantômas books.

darn PC...
at least next time i won't have all these problems... or at least i will know what to do [not that i have really a clue how i sorted the problems..]
There were not real biggies in your entry, so it should be alright... it must have been as it has been picked already... well done..
I must admit, i would not mind having a shot at Arsene Lupin [i have already written a little something about him in my Maigret radio show entry]... Have you got any links/infos you could send me?!.. in advance... I will put your name in the researchers credits box if you do so... And, of course, as a co-author, you will have first look at the working draft... After all, we want to produce quality stuff don't we..
I could do a search on the net and all, both in french and english, but i don't mind collaborative work... Things i might forget could be picked up by you etc...
Anyway... got to go offline [and out] soon... talk later..
