you see now I'm P**** off and have posted something I probably shouldn't have done in the MotMV

No, just because you disagreed with someone doesn't mean it was wrong or that you shouldn't have said it. Your opinions are both important and valid, as I'm sure you know. I dunno... I got confused over all the furore yesterday, I didn't think we were doing anything that bad, but hey ho.
Anyway, like we know this is a private site so I don't want to post anything even here that might cause further arguments... So I'll leave it at this. But I do think you had a good point. *shrug*

Fish's Freak Posted Jun 8, 2006
Should have said 'isn't a private site'. Ooops.
Anyway... More could be said, but I must away for a short while. But will most happily discuss this with you later should you feel the need.
Hope you're feeling better later/by the time you read this... I know there's probbly nothing I can say that would help, but you are in my thoughts. And other peoples', too. But you know that.

Hey. Don't worry about it.
What was it that got you mainly? The sort of killjoy attitude, or something else?

1) everyone in England, Scotland Ireland and Wales pays a licence fee that pays for all of the BBC services, this website included, that means that everyone who she told off in that thread is paying for this site, she is not, so therefore who is she to say what can and cannot go on, in the thread/site
2) It clearly states that when someone under 16 signs up they need parental consent and that although there is a moderation system in place it is still an adult site, any responsible parent should check out the site throughly to make sure it is suitable for their child as the BBC nor members of this website can police which threads these children wonder into
3)It was a bit of harmless fun, kids will (i know this for a fact I work in a school) hear far worse than what went on in that thread at school
4) has seen even seen some of the threads on hootoo the penis thread in ask is a prime example

All good points, and all very true and valid.
You're right, and I agree totally. But there is something else... at one point Ben did make a joke about the 'blanket' having naked pictures of Dan and Yael. So they might have some sort of personal anger about it rather than otherwise.

Cal - interim high priest of the Church of the Holy Tail Posted Jun 8, 2006
Then they should've taken that up with GB since myself and TB decided to ignore that remark

Fish's Freak Posted Jun 8, 2006
oh, and Ben doesn't pay a British licence.
Also, there's the culture thing. There might be a bit of a culture gap between England and Israel/America... So what we find harmless and funny might not be seen as such by others. So you, know, different strokes and all that.
But, hey. *shrug* I think you're right about kids hearing worse, when I was at school not so long back we heard far worse and much more explicit stuff than that sounded out on regular occasions... But, I can understand why someone would not want to hear that stuff.
I know, I'm a terrible pacifist. Apparently I have the curse of seeing both sides of every argument, so I'm probably not helping you much right now. But i don't really know what to say for the best.

Hey, don't be sorry Cal! There's nothing to be sorry for. You haven't done anything, I just feel a wee bit bad that I can't help or say anything relevant or whatever.

Sorry for intruding, but...
I'd just like to give you my support Cal. If it wasn't for the fact that I had to leave last night because my brother needed me to tape the Sopranos for him, then I would have screamed as loudly as text can allow at Yael for even suggesting that she has it worse off than you. Seriously, when I was trying to sleep last night I was so angry at her for saying something so stupid an insensitive that I was having trouble doing so.
Yes, yes, I'm a hypocrite.
Key: Complain about this post
