Hi there Jedi Female Apprentice, saw your query on one of the threads re smileys and being an ACE figured I'd pop across and lend you a hand.
I don't know the ins and outs of webtv but I assume you have a standard keyboard with all of it's keys ... if so you can enter smileys by typing so do this 
type "<" then "smiley" then ">" with no spaces.
you could of course go to <./>smiley</.> where there is a list of all the options ... as I said, assuming you have a normal keyboard their shouldn't be a problem.
