Getting Started
I find myself almost at a loss of words. Not really. It takes a lot to shut me up. I think it might be a genetic thing, as this appears to be a very common trait in my family.
For years I've had friends telling me to read the Hitchhiker's Guide and that it was one of the greatest books ever written. Finally a friend of mine with a copy agreed to lend it to me. This was only so we could remain friends as he felt he couldn't associate with someone who hadn't read the books. From there I read the Dirk Gently books (in reverse order). I was devasted with I heard of Douglas Adams death. I think that if I had ever met him, we would of gotten along quite well.
Last week I was in the bookstore and found The Salmon of Doubt. About two days later I read it. It's like talking to an old friend.
I myself am not really unusual. Unless you ask anyone who knows me. I'm working on a theatre and music double degree (I'm an electrician, not a performer, so I should make some sort of money). I was originally going to major in biochemistry and music, but it turns out that you have to do a lot of silly stuff before you can do any of the fun research stuff. And the other students where not on the same level that I'm on. I play flute and do a lot of renaissance faires, which is about as much as I perform. I'm a proud member of the International Wenches Guild Local #69 (I'm member #1486).
I'm from a small town that no one has ever heard of. That's not completely true, but it feels like it. I go to school in Iowa (I moved from Colorado to Iowa; go figure). I spent one term in London and have fallen in love with it. I hope to return someday. Or maybe I'll just travel endlessly.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
