Hello and welcome to h2g2
I am one of the site's Aces and it is my job to meet and greet new researchers and make sure that they are ok and can find their way around the site.
A page well worth looking at is the <./>Welcome</.> page. Here you can find out some general information about the guide and links to help pages.
May I also suggest visiting the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.>. GuideML is the computer language that h2g2 uses, and this page will help you to fill your user space with all sorts of neat stuff
If you are wondering how to make the smiley pictures like then click on <./>Smiley</.> which will take you a page which shows all the smileys.
If you are feeling a bit lost then clicking on <./>Dont Panic</.> will take you to the help pages, or feel free to ask me by clicking on the reply button below, and I will do as much as I can to help
Hope that answers any querys you have for the moment.

Thanks for the warm welcome. You don't have any warm milk as well by chance? This seems like the kind of place to get lost for hours. I found out about it from "Salmon of Doubt" which has me alternately laughing and searching for dry underwear.

I'm out of warm milk but I have some .
And as for spending hours at this site, you are completely correct. I am hooked. In fact, quite a few researchers here are addicted. I'm slowly making my way through Salmon of Doubt and smile everytime h2g2 is mentioned. I've made friends here and found out loads of interesting stuff but most importantly I find this site fun and it regularly makes me
I hope you can take as much from this site as I have
Hm, I've just re-read that and it sounds quite soppy doesn't it. Ah well.
