You are giving your age away if you can remember Bayko!

smiley - biggrin Not entirely: it was around for thirty years - and it lasted quite well. I'm more of a Minibrix kid myself, but being much the youngest of four brothers, I did encounter Bayko as a child. I'd almost forgotten about it, but the subject cropped up on another thread quite recently.

Oh yes. Almost forgot....

I was always losing those rods that held the bricks up!!

(actually many of the longer ones got bent over and were used as catapult ammunition!!!!!)

I'm sure you're right, although my recollections are hazy. I think there must have been quite a few pieces missing by the time the set was handed down to me. But my brothers were great improvisers and probably used cut down sparklers or something as rods.

I still had a small boxful of the stuff up to about 10 years ago. Then I spotted an ad in the Lancs Evening Post from a guy who was collecting the stuff so that he could build a village or something.

Anyway, he offered me £50.00 for my boxfull (about 1ft cube) including bases, roofs, minarets, domes etc. I was that shocked by his offer, I said 'yes' straightaway......

Maybe I should have held out for more??? Dunno!!!
