The Porridge Bird
The Porridge Bird, a truly strange specimen, was first brought to public attention in the Firesign Theatre's comedy album "I Think We're All Bozos on This Bus," where the protaganist destroys the Future Fair with the question "Why does the Porridge Bird lay his egg in the air?"
A question which brings up only more questions. Why indeed does the Porridge Bird lay his egg in the air? Is it psychological or merely stupidity? And how exactly can a bird lay HIS egg in the air?
In his spare time, the Bird has been known to write useless entries into the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well as throwing himself defenseless into a game of Mornington Crescent.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
