I went swimming in London, the week of the meetup, for the first time in months and months - in spite of paying for a subscription to the university leisure facilities. ..
sounds like it'd make quite a good premeet activity, if everyone's wanting to do it and no-one's getting around to it.

What makes you think stinky US beaches are any better? Considering Bush's hatred of all things green, I'd think rather the opposite...

Dunno. Our (work) servers are a little strange sometimes. Or i may have left the window open and dropped something on the keyboard...

I was about to make a comment about the windows in your building not looking like they were particularly openable (although I can't remember; the last time I walked past it was en route to st. pauls, and we all know what happened /there/, so the state of the ventilation wasn't the first thing on my mind, although I did grin at little at the partially concealed sign under the potplant, on the left of the entrance. ) - at this point, I realised - wrong sort of window.
Perhaps I am a little nervous about the job interview I have in 2 hours. .. *thinks that more is in order*

'Twas not where I work, young padwan, but merely the HQ...the Death Star of the CPS, if you will...
Good luck with the interview...

ah.. .. I must have misheard you on your whistlestop tour of london. .. *calls to a backroom*.. "It's alright, boys! call it off! we got the wrong place! we're gonna afta wait a bit!"
Thankyou! *nods sagely*.. it's somewhere I've worked before, so I don't think they'd interview me unless I was quite likely to get the job, but still - I'm a little nervous.

Oi...*bes embarrassed*...despite growing up with mountain lakes, pacific ocean, and the gulf of mexico near where my florida relatives lived (gorgeous, by the way), as well as assorted city pools, I *still* don't know how to swim. Even at the hotel I got on Njan's nerves by declaring the pool too cold, and retreating like a nervous guppy to the hot tub.
*thinks nice thoughts of walks to st paul's*

Nyssa, you can't swim? Don't you take your kids swimming? Wow. I've always considered swimming and riding bikes to be the two fundamentals of being a kid.
Njan; that be your mission. Teach her how to swim!!!

Oh, there ain't nothing memorable about me in a hot tub, Potholer..
Oh! I just remembered something especially memorable about that swimming episode..*says nothing but points at Njan, who forgot to pack swimming trunks and was compelled to buy the only ones the health club had left, which...fit snugly, shall we say*
*s for cover*
