It's whatever I could find in the kitchen. .. man, I'm looking forward to living somewhere proper again, and this is the first day I've been here since christmas. *sigh*

I know that feeling. Staying at parents and inlaws over the festive season, and then getting home to rummage through coat pockets for enough change to buy a tray of eggs and a couple of pints of milk.

*giggle* I always love that student aid checks come out like an agonizing three weeks after the holidays

I wish I got student aid cheques. Unfortunatley, I've got a cruddy paid job.

I'm not even bothering. There's no point; ten minutes after depositing them in the fridge, they'd only be gone again. With twenty people in a kitchen the size of an AMT expresso bar, things tend not to last very long or remain in anything approaching a palletable state. Just walking past the kitchen on the way to and from the shower each morning is an unpleasant experience..

Well, it's not quite so wonderful when I ponder the fact that I already owe the federales like 50 grand

well.. if it's unbearable, how do you bear it, and therefore how are you sane enough not to be hurling the keyboard at the monitor and ceasnig your ability to post to hootoo?

Posting to h2g2 keeps it bearable. I've got a 'net connection here that most ISPs would kill for.

ah.. right.. *nods*.. I'm currently connected to the net at a cool 10mbit/s. .. the bottleneck is the cheap switches that the university uses. ()

We've got a very fast connection here. They're on about increasing it, and to do so they need to start using fibre optics to connect the servers.

the computing department uses our connection to link up one of the university mainframes with other universities in order to have a giant multiply-processored computational beast, at least as far as I know, so.. that should speak volumes about the internet connection.
