who am I?
Hmmm...who I am seems to change daily. The basic facts don't, of course. I have a degree in library science. Right now, I work in a public library. Nice folks, pitiful salary. I love to read science fiction and fantasy. I also crochet. I make and teach origami. I hate onions, cantaloupe, honey dew and mangos. However, I will consent to be in the room with them. I do not, however, consent to be in the room with smoke. Allowing someone to murder me isn't my style. One of my pet peeves is that libraries, at least in this area of the world, create a separate section for Adult science fiction, but not for fantasy -- it gets lumped in with pedestrian fiction. (Although, sometimes Young Adult or Juvenile chapter books do have a fantasy section. Oh yeah, and we seem to have trouble distinguishing between Young Adult and Adult literature.) Sometimes series even get split between science fiction and being put in with other fiction, or between Young Adult and Adult. I get annoyed by how many different places I have to search to find what I want. When I rule the world, it will be properly cataloged. Hey, I'm a librarian. This kind of anal retentive stuff is what initiates our photosynthetic processes.Latest Messages
