Running for the Rhinos
Hello, I'm Christina (Rhino Girl),
I first got interested in Save the Rhino in 1994 when I climbed Kilimanjaro with Douglas Adams and the Rhino Team.
I just wanted to climb the mountain and then I met all these fantastic people - and we all took it in turns to wear the rhino costume (you can see the costume on the video).
After the climb, I joined the charity as a Trustee and we've been taking that costume wherever we can ever since. The costume does more mileage than any of us - it must have run a hundred or more marathons by now!

Future Plans
We hope to be meeting up with Richard from 360 U76 in Namibia where he plans to be taking the 360 microlight flying across Africa.
Richard expects his journey will be covered by BBC Radio 4 - his destination is west of Windhoek in the north west of the country, where vital work continues to preserve the endangered Black Rhino.
In 1993, numbers of Black Rhinos in Namibia and South Africa were at an all time low of just 2,400, but thanks to the work of the Save the Rhino Trust numbers are now on the increase. Namibian Mike Hearn and I will be Richard’s guides in the beautiful and awe-inspiring desert of Damaralandes.
This planned programme will also give Richard the opportunity to reflect on the environmental work done by Douglas Adams, who was the Patron of the Save the Rhino Trust. After the programme listeners can communicate directly with Mike and me and see the extraordinary images of the journey so far via the 360 website.
