Really? That's pretty cool. I finished Ender's Game last night..quite a wonderful book, despite its awful topics. (It actually sounds like something the government might do). Sorta scary... I'm on page 35 of Speaker For The Dead (Pipo just was killed by the piggies). Well, thanks for the suggestion..these books are quite good.

Thank you thank you thank you LOL. Tell me if you have any other favorites that you think I'll like. (You should probably check out Dune by Frank Herbert if you haven't already..and if I haven't told you to already along with Stranger in A Strange Land by Robert Heinlein)

While I haven't read too many of them yet, my father is a huge Heinlein fan, and he owns every book he ever wrote, so fortunatley I have ready access to them.

OOO! BOOKS GALORE! lol. Don't forget Asimov..and you might want to try out Vonnegut (though you probably had to already, at least in school- Cat's Cradle is especially good [just don't read too many at once..it ruins his writing]) Take your time and read whatever you want...That's what books are for.

Well, I can't write novels too well. They never seem to go anywhere and never really have an ending. Of course, Short stories don't sell alone and I'm sure I could try a novellete..but it just loses its novelty after awhile. Besides, I'd just get too cynical after awhile of reading my work over.

You could write a collection of short stories, lots of authors start that way. You never know what you're capable of, you'd be surprised!

I guess I could..if I tried hard enough. But where might I go from there? Oh, the opportunities . You know..you could write, too. (If you don't already-I'm sure you'd be quite good at it).
I'm sure I do not know what I am capable of and I probably will never know for there are always 'what if's (so I could have always done something differently and perhaps gotten a better result and most likely a different one..it all depends on the circumstance.)

Very true, but the point is not so much to look back at what you could have done, but instead to look ahead, and try to realize what you can do now and in the future. That way, you don't preclude yourself from any of the possibilities.

It's true that no one knows the future or what it looks like, but the reason for that is that the future is undefined. That's why it's important to look ahead at the possibilities, take control of your life, and make your own future, according to the actions you take in the present.

And depth is a relative measurement, even in conversation.
