A fellow Valley person! Rock! I'm San Jose! (If we find enough of us.. we should have a meetup sometime )
A mufflewhump! Awesome! (Yes, I did go and read the definition to find out what the heck a mufflewhump was.. That is a pretty darn cool gift there Amy!)

Anytime
Kinda , meeting someone in my timezone, after all this time...
The UK is 8 hours ahead of us, most of the rest of Europe is 9 hours ahead, South Africa, Estonia, and Israel are 10 hours ahead, Moscow is 11, and Australia and New Zealand are 17 hours ahead, though I tend to think of it as 7 behind and tomorrow...
Hi peter!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jun 30, 2002
It IS sorta weird.. I'm used to thinking 8 hours ahead.. *giggle* I haven't met anyone from NZ/Australia yet, that I know of.. That's the kind of time difference that would mess with my head.. I remember talking about the World Cup and getting completely confused on when the games were actually happening..

Yeah, I convert to UK time pretty much automatically... Though they changed to Daylight Saving Time a week before we did, and that threw me all outta whack... Actually, *everyone* converted a week before we did...
Really took awhile to get the Aussies and Kiwis straight after the time change, too, as they not only changed a week before we did, but in the opposite direction...
The screen's getting all blurry, so I'd better get to bed...

*waves*
Oh, I've got an on-going joke with one of my friends on here. Would you like to join in?
Hi peter!

Well, it's not what you're likely thinking--not a practical joke (but thanks for voluntering)
In a thread somewhere (I think I know where, but I'm lazy today and not going to go look) we were discussing having a meet at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Since I brought it up, Happy's been insisting that I organize it... Now, I know that Gilroy's close to San Jose, because I looked at a map...
Don't panic! The soonest would be next summer, because Happy's in the UK, and *was* going to come to the Pennsylvania Dutch Meet, where I would get to meet him (yep, that's right--I'm flying there!) but he had major car repairs a few weeks ago, and now can't go. But he did say that if there was a garlic meet...
Hi peter!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 2, 2002
Woo! Gosh.. not only have I been to the Garlic festival before (GARLIC ICE CREAM IS PUTRESCENT! FLEE FROM IT!!), but I know people who have worked for the darn thing!
'Course I'm down for that!
And hopefully by that time I'll have a car and such and can get there easily..
Aww you mean I don't get to prank someone? Just Kidding.
Sings: "I might get to go to a meet-up, I might get to go to a meet-up"
There's also a pretty cool festival called the "Scottish Highland Games" that happens every year in Pleasanton.. even if you still want to meet at the Garlic Fest, it's worth checking out.. Aug 31/Sept 1.. here's the site: www.caledonian.org.. Although it looks like my favorite band won't be there!!!
Anyhow, they're cool. So's the Garlic Fest though.

Well, Happy claims to like garlic ice cream, which is what made me mention the Garlic Fest to him in the first place!
I managed to find someone that could actually do something about it!!!
Why don't you go tell Happy hi? U150533
Hi peter!

Happy's a bit , it's true... But then, he *is* an h2g2er...
(And what makes him even er--he's in my fan club...)
Hi peter!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 2, 2002
But Amy, you're so everyone should be in your fan club!
And H2'ers are weird by definition, I think.. Why else would we be on the 'nets constantly?
