, Flanker! Have fun!! (Hope you don't go TOO much madder.. does that even make sense? I just know, being one of three children, that three is a handful..
) So what are they like? How many of each do you have?
Books are the best escape. Better than , better than any drug.. A whole new universe to enjoy and be a part of...
Like my intro says, I'm in a mad passionate affair with all written material..

Hi Peter the Girl,
I'm back but only for a week because on Sunday we're all going on holiday!!!!!
Going to be waited on hand and foot .
We need it (Well my wife and I do) our three kids are just happy we're going. (They are Craig 9, Kyrsten 7, and Louisa 5.) And that's enough!!!
I agree completely with you about books, leading to escape into the endless world of imagination.
Who are your fav authors ?
hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 2, 2002
Right on, vacations are awesome! Where are you off to?
R&R is a wonderful thing.. Especially for those with youngins.. I don't EVEN understand the patience involved..
I'd say Adams (o' course!), Laurell K. Hamilton, Neil Gaiman, Piers Anthony.. everything else I read is pretty random, but those are the authors I go for.. Oh, and Terry Brooks (but only Landover and Shannara..)
What about you?
-Peter

Flanker Posted Jul 2, 2002
We're just going down to the Lake District of England for a week. Roll on Sunday.
I don't get as much of a chance to read but like anything from Mary MacCafferty (and her Pern stories) to Wilber Smith and Clive Clussler (Dirk Pitt series.) Not forgetting DNA of course.
hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 2, 2002
Right on! *cheering* Whoo!
I've read some Cussler.. good stuff.. I'm sure you don't hon, kids and all..

Flanker Posted Jul 2, 2002
At the moment I'm just waiting till the new Cussler "Valhalla Rising" is out in paperback. It is supposed to be good .
Incidently found my copy of DONT PANIC at the weekend. I always though that it was sad in a way?
hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 2, 2002
It *is* sorta sad.. *DNA memorial moment*
New Cussler? Right on!
Also Ive discovered I've read Wilbur Smith's novel "The Seventh Scroll" about 57 times.. Didn't recognize the name..

Try reading "The Sunbird" by Wilbur Smith I think it is a fantastic story. The mind such authors must have.

;P

hi!
Flanker Posted Jul 3, 2002
Peter ,
Are sitting comfortably then I'll begin.
I am Keeper of Curling Stones, The Stoup, and Curling Brooms. These are all to do with the sport of Curling (IE a sport played on ice and you have got to try to slide your stone closer to the target than the other team.) You can get a better idea if you go to http://www.gourock-curlers.fsnet.co.uk (and you can also see me I'm the web master) The Curling Stones are what we use to play the game, the Curling Brooms are brushes we use to sweep the ice in front of the stone. and The Stoup is traditionally a cup which holds money to pay for drinks ect during and after the game.
Phew! I know it might sound a bit to you in sunny California
but we curled outside in January this year the first time in about 30 years.
We normally play at our local ice rink.
While we're on about it where can you go to become a cynic

hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 3, 2002
Right on, sounds like a pretty hoopy sport! More fun than American football, at any rate.
As for becoming a cynic.. Head to U142820 and talk to Hunter, he's the leader of our merry band!
I'm sure he'll be v. friendly, he was to me.

Flanker Posted Jul 3, 2002
Hi
Thanks for letting me know about Hunter.
I think that curling is a sport
No pun intended
Its certainly not as physical as American Football.
Do you have any any ice rinks near you?
hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 3, 2002
You know, I'm not sure.. I think we do.. I know that the Sharks have an ice rink and such.. but close to me? Hmm.. we have an ice rink in the winter outside, and I always have a lot of fun with that, it's awesome. But since this is Cali it's kinda expensive to have a year round rink.. I'm sure there is one though..
Hey, no tears..
Well American Football makes no sense. Its a bunch of big sweaty guys running and jumping on each other to get a silly shaped ball covered in animal hide. Woo!
-Pete

Flanker Posted Jul 3, 2002
Hey thank for that
If you come over to Scotland in the winter you can come and watch a game and have a or two?
hi!
Pete *not quite dead yet* Posted Jul 3, 2002
I'd love to! In about two years I'll finally have enough, or maybe sooner depending on how much my inheritance is. But I swear I'm coming to Europe!
