Apologies to any new members of the FREAK society who have to wait for an official joining, help yourself to the bar anyway If any newbies need help with something, feel free to post, as long as you don't mind waiting a while for an answer... Sorry to my jedi padawans too, but things are a bit slow posting-wise anyway, feel free to spar amoungst yourself.

Double "Argh"!
Posted May 7, 2004
I just enlightened my RS teacher today of the joys of h2g2. So, will she join? Won't she? Will we encounter if she does?
Okay, so it's not a big deal. But erm, it is heightened by my paranoia of turning into her... I'm too young....!
Anywho, in more serious news [news? Who do I think I am, anyway?] I had my very last oral exam today... My Spanish. Which I am incredibly glad is over, considering that I really can't speak the language. Well, at least not as well as I speak French. But all the same, my teacher said I did okay, so hopefully it'll be enough for me to get a decent grade at the end of it all... But I think that finishing the exam is cause for a celebration! Anyone with me?

*pokes the captive audience*
Posted Apr 21, 2004
I am begining to grow alarmed at the length of my friends list, and the amount of people on it that I am relatively sure I haven't seen for years...
So.. can all present please say "aye"?

I love the smell of horse manure in the morning
Posted Feb 26, 2004
I know you didn't notice I was gone. But I was.
I went to New York for 3 days.
*feels at a loss of what to say*
I feel so out of touch with you guys, it's like I haven't had the chance to speak to you in ages... Don't worry, I should be around a lot more now. We need to catch up with eachother, badly!
Anyway, New York. Don't you just love the smell of horse manure in the morning?
It was big. Really big. But at the same time, exactly like any other American city. There was a funny sign in a restaurant in the Empire State building that said 'we take 3 omlettes to make one egg' which duely amused me for a while. The view from the top was great, but it was freezing up there.
The original plan was we were going over to see a musical, Taboo (long story, Boy George, obsessed mother, cute lead actor blah blah, embarassing moments blah blah....) but it had been cancelled literally two weeks before we went out. It was rather creepy that there was still a large poster advertising it over Times Square. Time Square, by the way, is quite awful. It feels like being trapped in Blade Runner.... you know what I mean?
Anyway, the hotel was in a fairly good place, quite central, just off Broadway. Some advice for anyone thinking of going- don't attempt to walk from the place where the Staten Island ferry/ Ground Zero is all the way to west48th & 8th.... my foot is still dead!
Hope all you guys are doing well
