Yes, I've been quiet for a while. Fortunately, it's largely a result of not having anything exciting to report rather than having dropped off the face of the earth or anything like that. But I've also been quiet because I have nothing to share but gripes.
March had been a bit busy for me, and I'll admit it's been unusually crappy. K and I have needed some costly car repairs, and there are some minor (but tremendously inconvenient) plumbing issues in our kitchen which interfere with doing laundry and make cleaning up a bit more bothersome than normal. Those issues probably won't be remedied till early next week, as we need to replace a faucet and I'm not comfortable doing it without the help of a friend on whose time I don't wish to place unreasonable demands.
I've also been distracted lately. I'm sure it's because I've been so busy, which has me feeling a bit stressed, which leaves me feeling very tired. Several times this month I have mixed up dates and times, agreeing to be someplace on a date different from the date I'm actually available (and then, of course, not showing up on the date I accidentally said I would). I've forgotten some appointments altogether.
Plus I'm still not feeling well after my procedure on the 5th. I'm told I may continue to feel this way for another couple of months.
So, I guess I've been keeping mum because I knew as soon as I opened the floodgate, all sorts of moaning would come out. I was right!
I'll survive, but I'll likely be and/or for a few more days yet.

Flowers- virtual ones are pretty. Real ones aggravate my allergies. So I'll just enjoy the nice s you left me, Ed.
And the microwaved zebra cheered me up, too. You guys are so silly.

Ooh, can't wait to get home and check that out!
Sometimes little things help. K took me to dinner Monday night (mainly so he could have 25 cent buffalo wings) and I had a fab veggie burger on a pretzel roll. Then we went to support two local indie businesses located near the bar- at Permanent Records, we bought a few CDs, and at Vigilante Press (comic shop) I got a manga cookbook, V for Vendetta, and a graphical biography of Che Guevara. Just a little while ago I went for a walk, and stopped at the drugstore to get a can of hairspray. They were on sale; if you bought three cans it cost the same as buying two. So, I stocked up and basically got one free.

I gave my sister a stuffed for her birthday - I bought it at the comic shop. It has a very wide mouth, and some kind of clip inside so it can bite people.

Now I want one. Especially if they bite.

I have one like that, but it looks like it's covered in blood, and I've never noticed a clip that makes it bite people. I will be investigating that when I get home this evening, as well.

It's only the little ones with the clip, the big one doesn't have it...

How little is little? The one I have isn't much bigger than my hand.
The slippers are awesome. Too bad I never wear any.
