I'd noticed a chip-related pattern. It's all K's fault, that guy and his bloody chips! smiley - winkeye

Yep, Ivan- 21 separate returns. A 12-inch stack sitting to one side of my desk. On one hand, I desperately want to get them out of the way so I don't wind up putting in all kinds of extra hours closer to the deadline. On the other hand... I don't want to do them at all! smiley - headhurts They seem pretty straightforward, but I can't do anything without the numbers!

Tonight's our company's annual holiday shindig- a bit later than usual, as they're celebrating an anniversary (10 years) as well. I won't be attending, but a number of people will be rolling in late tomorrow, so I don't expect I'll get much of a start on this thing until next week.

Are they computer chips?

Would it help if you keep telling them "So long & thanks for all the fish?"

Sorry, it does sound like a deadly boring pain in the donkey, all you can do is grin & bare it i guess.

Or, of course, you could pass the info onto Uk tax system, where it will inevitably get lost in the post.smiley - rolleyes

At least I got a giggle today. Reading some reviews on Netflix regarding a movie I may just rent, one reviewer (who rated the indie film quite poorly) remarks that "this movie just might wet your pallet". smiley - rofl Please note, Netflix only ship within the USA, so odds are this person has been taught English at some point...? Stupid people are hilarious.

Hehehehehehe! God knows what kind of grammatical errors I make without realizing it.

I'm back in the Netflix groove again, getting and sending movies once more.

So I've seen! smiley - smiley You wouldn't know it from looking at our queue (still holding at about 250), but we've averaged 3-4 per week for several months. I just keep finding more to add. smiley - doh

my saying:- the poor can always look forward to being rich! but the rich, can't look forward to being poor.

Therefore, we poor are the better offsmiley - smileywe've always got something to look forward toosmiley - winkeye

Ah, well while I can't vouch for what it's like to be rich, I don't much care for being poor, either. Given a choice between scourges, I guess I'm not so bad off. smiley - winkeye

I suppose that's not far off- it can't be easy for drunks to get themselves up and off to work every day.

Having spent a year between jobs after one employer went out of business, I can say with confidence that I would never want to be off work again. Retirement, obviously, is a goal, but one must have quite a bit of money saved, preferably set aside into a IRA.

There's also that being home all the time with nothing useful or productive to do (no kids, no volunteer gigs) is boring as hell. smiley - winkeye

Ivan the Terribly Average

Welcome to my life - the WRMC and the ASCC are waiting for my RIS, including the SWMS and the GFC as developed by AE, but OBPR is delaying approval. smiley - rolleyes I wish they'd STFU.

And Terri, I do see your point - I'd avoid putting money in the IRA too.

Behave, kids. IRA= Individual Retirement Account. You designate a certain percentage of your pre-tax earnings to be withheld from each paycheck, and it's put into an account to be used for a pension when you retire. I had to clean mine out during my year of unemployment, in order to keep all the bills paid to date. Starting over hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be.

IRA isn't actually an acronym. It's prononounced "I-R-A", not "Ira". Acronyms= SNAFU, SCUBA, etc. IRA, USA, etc= initializations. smiley - smiley

Hypo-allergenic, antisepticated(?) carpets! Sorry, lame and glib, I am new at this kind of thing, I tend to find myself at my least erudite, amusing, interesting whatever, when at the keyboard.
