Ugh. And we've been slow roasting while up to our eyes in flood waters. Still, as much as the heat works my nerves, all that dark and gloom would get me down, too.
Hope the sunshine lasts a while.

For you two:
To Autumn, by John Keats
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
conspiring with him how to load and bless
with fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
to bend with apples the moss´d cottage-trees,
and fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
to swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
with a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
and still more, later flowers for the bees,
until they think warm days will never cease,
for summer has o´er-brimm´d their clammy cells.

I've read a number of posts around this site indicating that many of you ahve had nothing resembling summer at all. And I'm insanely jealous. I mean, we technically needed the air conditioning starting the last week of April, and we've had numerous hot, humid and stormy days.
We're just 43 days away from what is normally our first 32°F (0°C) low, and I am *really* looking forward to it.
I don't generally get SAD, since our winters aren't all dark and overcast, and we get plenty of sunshine when temperatures are well below freezing. Actually, I think I used to experience something similar to SAD during winters when I lived in a basement apartment that didn't get a lot of sunlight- I'm sure that the apartment being quite full of sunlight, and sitting next to a solid wall of windows at the office, helps offset some of that. Though it is really hard not to want to crawl into bed at 5 PM when the sun sets at 3:30.
I'm sorry you all have had such a crappy summer, weatherwise.
