Yes, I am still a CE actively, as leader of the Moderators, with which volunteer scheme I am also quite active.

I'm also still ACEs and Gurus.

I've publicly pledged to adhere to and uphold the Volunteer Code of Conduct in the appropriate thread. I look forward to seeing the updated badges soon!

and also don't quite understand how CE and leader of the mods quite fits as two distinct roles, could you explain?

You can be a CE without being a moderator, and you can be a Moderator without doing much else of CE'ing..
