Punks of the World Unite ... something about chains

Well Hi there
CD's arrived, unopened by The Authorities. Am listening to them now. Actually, the drummer's not too bad, isn't he???? It's so nice to have some new music!! I'm enhoying both CD's, but it takes time for songs to 'pop' out at me and become favourites, so that's a joy for the future.
Had an excellent day today, out in the country at a labyrinth walk. Amazing spot, at the end of a long winding, rollercoaster dirt track in a loop of the Yass River. Big trees, birds, kangaroos ... bliss. This woman has set up a labyrinth walk - it's basically a labyrinth shape about 25' across and you follow an intricate path to the centre and back out. A meditative experience. Then we had lunch and wandered around and chatted. Great day out, I Really needed it. I think (hope more like) that God is telling me to get out into the country more often. Oops. Tuffy has finished. Better go and cook dinner (back to reality). Then watch Australian Princess - a new reality show, probably because that Tasmanian woman married the crown prince of Denmark ... Not my usual fare, but a friend of mine's daughter is actually in it and I want to have a look. Strange, I've always been under the impression that Zena was into horses and boys. Obviously I was wrong.
Anyway, thankyyou thank you for the music. Another thing I desperately need at the moment.

Ps. You've changed your name!!! Shady NY cop ... interesting.

It's a temprary switch- we're anagramming our names for Halloween here, many h2g2ers have done already. Some are funny as heck! I'll switch mine back after the end of the month.
Glad you liked the CDs. Equally glad that they came at a time when you needed some (new) music to give you a bit of a pick-me-up. I can so relate. I hope you're doing okay?
I'd better get dressed for work now (or at least dry off), and sit down for my coffee with that not-too-bad drummer. Hope you're having a relaxing day. I'll be in touch again soon.

Australians are just a little understated in what they say. If we say "it's not too bad", it really means "dammed fine".
Just so ya know.
We're a weird mob.
Have a good day (that means have a really excellent and wonderful day ...)

I'm not going to change my name. I'm too busy fighting off eevil!!
by the way, G.W.B's stuff about being told by God to attack Iran etc. has been the butt of jokes and ridicule down here. It turned up on a comedy/news show on the ABC last night (The Glass House). Very funny.

Friend's daughter got kicked off Australian Princess last night. It seemed to me that she had decided that it was all b......t anyway. She went to sleep while she was waiting for her "makeover" (A Big Sin ... she was supposed to be hanging on every word), and then they made them cook and eat some disgusting Scottish offal dish. She's a vegetarian. I say it was a case of persecution of vegetarians!! Glad that she's off that silly show. Poor love. Must give her mum a call.

Hi there.
How's your friend's poor daughter taking the whole experience now? It sounds like it's a good thing she's off the show, but that wouldn't make it any less frustrating or disheartening. Poor kid.
Hope your week finished off nicely and that you had a wonderful weekend. I got a flu and pneumonia jab Thursday and have been feeling a little lethargic and under the weather since, plus the gradually shortening days are becoming more noitceable, and it's set off the urge to switch to hibernation mode. Otherwise, I'm doing just fine.
Well, you're probably already in bed sleeping by now, so have a Happy Monday, and we'll talk to you soon.

Hi there
Am being very uncommunicative at the moment, life's being stressful and I'm feeling rather low. I have an autoimmune condition and it's playing up at the moment, so hence the silence. It's not just you ... I'm not talking to anyone much at the moment.
The basic problem is that mum is doing some very strange things, and I'm hoping that it's a passing phase, but the counsellor I see at the Carer's association reckons that she needs a medical assessment. Not happy, Jan (that's an Aussie saying for ... not happy ... basically). And what's more, I need some respite, but mum won't go into respite care AT ALL. What I would like is a shack, a river, a month's supplies and the dogs ... see ya later. I would probably turn into a strange hermit, as I said to my friend (let's call him 'P') the other day. He said he'd come and join me, so where's the interesting hermit bit?? ... we'd just be a couple of strange feral types living in the bush. I guess he could bring his didgiredoo and we could go native ... Well, he's coming down soon, so at least I'll get a decent massage and a bit of TLC.
When the going gets tough, I just fall over. At least my few patients are doing well. One is coping really well with a very stressful situation, another seems to be in the happy situation of not needing a nasty operation, thanks to a bit of timely treatment ... etc. etc. I'm supposed to be writing up some workshop notes, but have run out of inspiration. "Make Your Own Cosmetics" ... I love running workshops. You just go in, bang on about your favourite subject for a few hours, bash up a cream, a toner and a lotion, give them a stack of notes and a cute little "starter pack", get paid and go home. Simple. A weeks's pay for 4 hours work. I'm not lazy, I just have to work smart 'cos I can't do the 9-5 routine any more. Plus, being a carer seems to take up an awful lot of time and energy, mentally and physically draining. Something I don't do well any more.
Anyway, I hope you're having a good week. Give you pusscat a pat from me. He sounds awfully cute and loveable.
Love

I understand... I was just concerned and hoping you were okay.
Of course, as soon as I started this, someone just dumped a stack of FedEx envelopes on my desk... so I will finish this posting a little later.
Hang in there, I will be thinking of you.
Love

Gidday PC
Thanks for the thoughts. I'm just taking things day by day.
But ... guess what. Suddenly it's "visit St.F. time". Not only is P coming down soon, but a friend of mine from Darwin is turning up on Friday (for a week I found out today, and occupying the spare bedroom ... how am I going to manage all that entertaining and cooking??? She'll just have to pull her own weight, I'm afraid). And, another friend is arriving on Friday. Thank God, staying with someone else, but she wants to go out on Saturday (fat chance, for me anyway) and do lunch on Sunday ... we'll see. It doesn't rain but it pours ... Sigh. And, I've got to take my little miss pup to the vet tomorrow. She's very off colour, and needs some antibiotics I think.
It will be nice to see them, though. Have to admit a bit of friendly company won't go astray.
See ya

That's a lot of people coming around. Hopefully you can enjoy the company without overexerting yourself in terms of work and entertaining stuff.
I do hope your poor little pup is okay, and your mom, too.
Keep me posted.

Hi there
WEll, good news on the front. She obviously had an infection of some type, so I put her on my own "special formula" antibiotic (it stops flus in their tracks, prevents infection in cuts and burns etc, so I figured it would be good for the as well). She seemed a whole lot better, ate her dinner, funny smell gone by this a.m., but I still took her to the vet anyway, as there's a nasty autoimmune/infection type thing that female dogs can get, which will kill them if they don't have an emergency operation (only about $400!!!). Well, the vet found no evidence of that particluar condition, and gave me some antibiotics. So she's on antibiotics and it only cost me $40 ... much better for the poor old pocket!! And I've got peace of mind. And she ate her breakfast bone, so that's good and all.
Friends still arriving tomorrow. Feeling much better, even though it's quite hot today. Still chugging along at the workshop notes, found some really good suppliers ... which required me trotting off to check out their wares. It's like being let loose in a lolly shop ... essential oils, floral waters, butters, waxes, organic oils ... yum!! I had to restrain myself to a few must haves to keep myself in creams and lotions. Certified organic rosewater etc. Love that smell.
Mum's pretty quiet at the moment, not eating much at all. Hmmm. Wait and see. Going to see her doctor on Tuesday, so that should be interesting.
Re. that brain thingy you sent , there's another from our Fearless Leader, John Howard. When the space station was coming down, it headed for Australia. There was general panic and concern. He "calmed the herd" by saying: "Well, it will either come down on land or in the sea". God, what an absolute Genius!! No wonder he's prime minister. At it was, it came down between Australia and New Zealand. So he's a prophet as well. (I wish he'd disappear off to the planet for vertically challenged people from which he came, she said sourly). Nasty little man, he's just managed to destroy working conditions for 99% of Australian workers, bugger their families, bugger their working conditions ... it's better for the business owners, his good mates (he's also as thick as thieves with G.W. Bush .. they probably send each other birthday cards ...). I personally think, along with lots of other people, that they cooked the last 2 elections.
Anyway, enuf of politics. All we can do is keep our heads down and do the best we can for ourselves and our loved ones ...
