Hey there!
I'd written you a nice long reply from home this morning, and then my computer crashed. Kablooey. So, I'll try again with the last 15 minutes of my shift.
How exciting for you that it's snowing. Will you get a lot of accumulation? Chicago gets a goodly amount of snow sometimes.
I do think it is unscientific to dismiss something without at least researching it. I've had some good luck with homeopathic medicines. I've had some that didn't work. But I'm usually game to try anything unless it's contraindicated with my other meds or something. I assume you wouldn't receommend I try something you thought might harm me, so I'm going to try to track some of those salts down. Thank you!
I'm terribly sorry to hear about your friend's lost... but how cool that she gave you those meatsafes! They sound gorgeous! I'll Google them later, as well as Barossa Germans. My sweetie is half German, with Lutheran grandparents and parents, so it'd be an interesting topic for us both to read up on a bit.
Glad you had the chance to check Garbage out before you spent the money. $60 would have been a lot to pay for something if you wound up disliking it!
Well, hope your week's treating you well, and we'll talk again soon.
Best!

Hi there to you in sunny Chicago. How's things??
Apparently it snowed the night before last, but I didn't notice anything (except it was cold ). Snow doesn't settle here for long, though. It did the other week, which was fun and made the national news, which is an indication of how often it happens. Some of Australia's main snowfields are about 3 hours drive south of here ... yes we do have snowfields here, and about 3 hours flying northwest, a huge, hot desert. I belive that we live on a big desert island in the south Pacific.
Re.: the Barossa Germans. They are still around, many of my friends in S.A. come from old German families. Many of he wineries in the Barossa Valley (it's an area, actually, settled mainly by German immigrants) are still in their hands - like Wolf Blass, the Schrapels of Bethany, Hoffmans, etc. The Tanunda oompah band is still going after God knows how many years. You can buy plum cake and beesting cake and bratwurst etc. up in the Valley. And they still thatch their barns in the traditional manner. It's quite a distinctive area, actually. We sometimes spend the day up there, tasting wines and eating or bushwalking in the national parks. Very civilized. The last time I was up there, we went with some Japanese students my friend had staying with her. We did a couple of wineries and then took a picnic to a national park to see some wildlife. We found some kangaroos which crashed off into the underbrush before the students could grab their cameras. Oh well. At least they saw some, anyway. If they haven't been hunted they're usually quite tame, so the farm boys had probably been blatting away at them recently.
The tissue salts won't interact because they are homoeopathic. God. These remedies are so hard to explain. They contain the vibration of the original substance (in this case, iron), which is so dilute that you can't pick it up with normal equipment. They're basically increasing your ability to absorb iron from your diet. I actually found a really interesting site the other day which has a number of scientific papers on trials run on homoeopathic remedies. They are mostly from India, where homoeopathy is one of the main forms of medical treatment. It is very cheap, and in the right hands, very effective. A good one for 3rd. world countries.
Computers. Hmmph. I keep getting a notice that I need to update my Internet Explorer, but do you think I can get it to download?? Nope. Apparently this is happening to other people as well. I need to put the bite on the neighbour (an electronic engineer). Hope you've managed to resurrect yours by now. I just turn into a real girl whenever something dodgy happens to the p.c. They always assume so much knowledge (some people spend their time doing things like gardening, cooking, working, going out, interacting with other human beings ... not glued to the screen being geeks.)
Anyway, I'd better go and cook dinner, walk the dogs ... unstick myself from the screen.
See you later

Hey there! All's well up here in Chi-town. How's things with you?
Thanks for explaining how the tissue salts work. I think I could use more iron absorption. I will most definitely try them out!
And thanks for the info on the Barossa Germans.
Hope you've got IE fixed by now. I get the same kind of problems sometimes. One thing I will mention only because it actually caused a problem for me, and not to imply that you're too dumb to figure it out for yourself, is that before downloading any Microsoft updates, you need to inactivate, at least temporarily, your virus scan software, or crucial operating flies won't be downloaded. Go figure. Mine's acting a bit better, anyway. And I have a shiny new flat screen monitor donated by my uncle.
Well, that's about it for me, really. Can I add you to my friends list? This way I can see any journal entries you might add as well as messages here.
My sweetie's (you'll see me describe him elsewhere as K, by his first initial) band (one of 'em) is playing Saturday night. His younger sister is visiting from Brazil, where her hubby is working on his doctorate, and she and I are going to watch. Whee! He brought home extra copies of the CDs, in case you were interested in hearing either band, I could send copies.
Well, two more days and another week is through. Weather's cooled off a bit now, although not enough to snow yet . We're back into the mid to upper 70s during the days and the mid 50s to low 60s at night.
Hope the rest of your week goes well, and that your back pain has relented a bit. Did you get to a chiropractor at all, yet? Talk soon!

Happy Tuesday
Been busy ... in the garden, mainly. I'm resurrecting mum's rose garden, quite a job. I look like I've been fighting with the cats, all that pruning. It looks quite respectable now. I saw a patient today. No wonder she's feeling strange. She's on half a dozen herbal remedies, all screaming at each other. She listens to the media and self prescribes. It's just as bad as self prescribing chemist medicines. It's difficult to get some people to understand that just because it grows in the ground it's not necessarily harmless. What about deadly nightshade??? Those red and white Alice mushrooms?? Take one of them and tell me how you feel (if you can).
Lucky you with your nice new screen. I could do with a new one. This one develops an irritating whine after a while.
Was the gig good fun?? I imagine it was. Does your b.f. (K, rather) play in a number of bands?? A lot of musicians seem to, I suppose because it's fun (basically). They all seem to be different as well (one big band, one R&B, one punky, one just with a few mates who write songs ...) Variety is the spice of life, I guess. It just goes to show what Versatile and Talented people they are.
My favourite parties are where all the musos come and just mess around in the games room, preferably near the pool, and play until they run out of inspriation. Some of the best gigs EVER. Assuming they can remember all the chords and words.
No I'm not into being snooty re. computer advice. I need all the advice I can get. Hmmm. Disconnect the antivirus scanner. I'll try that when I have a spare morning to mess around with software issues.
Yes. Put me on the 'friends' list. Hope I don't lose you in the process. This is such an enormous site.
Hope you haven't blown away. New Orleans looks like a battle zone. Shades of Cyclone Tracey and Darwin 25 years ago. Nothing like a little global warming to spice things up weatherwise. This book I've been reading about the U.S. (ecological hisory) - major warnings re. the effect of g.w. for the U.S. as it seems to magnify any global weather changes due to its geographic shape, ocean currents etc. And, I was amazed that ice ages only take about 5 years to kick in. I thought it would take centuries. What an amazing world we live in.
Thought for the day.
See you. Hope the week is being kind to you

Yeah, even I know that messing around with all kinds of herbal remedies at the same time is asking for trouble. It's not like throwing together a salad, but that is a lot of people's attitude, it seems.
Wonderful news about the garden (except the sratched-up arms)! Rose gardens are so beautiful.
That book you're reading sounds fascinating. What's it called?
No, I haven't blown away. I'm in Chicago, which is far enough north that we haven't even had any rain. It's been kinda humid, but that's typical this time of year. I'm not even sure to what extent our weather's been influenced by Katrina. It's made things hectic at work, though- I am temping at a real estate firm that buys, sells and manages housing communities (homeowner's association things, dunno if it's an American phenomenon or what), and a couple of our properties in Florida suffered some damage. So I've been getting lots of calls from people needing reimbursement for repairs.
Saturday's gig was great! The place they played had an awesome sound system, and they were really tight, so it was one of the best performances I've seen them put on. K plays in three different bands- one punk (Geezers), one "power pop" (Tuffy UK), and one country-western (Axes of Evil). They're all *really* good, and I don't just say that because I already dig him, they really are talented musicians. The guitarist from Tuffy has played with bands like Cheap Trick.
Well, I'd best bounce and get myself to work. I've added you to my friends list (feel free to do the same should you ever so desire), but will continue to keep in touch right here. Hope the rest of the week is good to you as well! See you!

Well, here I am again. I've been away for a few days and now am back to the 'real world'. Darn. And what's more to a Major Disaster in the poor ol' US of A. At first it seemed to be "just" a bad cyclone, but it has developed into a huge tragedy. It's totally incredible what has happened, and the scenes we are seeing of New Orleans are like something that fermented in Steven Spielberg's brain, not real life. The looters are what disgust me, shooting at people, soldiers and the police (who are just trying to help survivors). Something bad seems to have happened to the world. Once upon a time, something like this would have brought out the best in people. Like the blitz in London. I guess there were looters there as well, though.
Anyway, to happier things. I have just spent a few days in a cute little cabin in the bush (you'd call them the woods, I guess), surrounded by kangaroos, wombats, wallabies, being woken by the birds ... ferns, tall trees and no-one around (I was in the little cabin down the valley). It was my oldest friend's birthday. She normally lives in Darwin, but came down to spend a couple of weeks with her family. Her mother lives in an architect designed hippie house in the middle of a large bush block on the coast range. She does art weavings, and makes a good living out of it. Good on her. She's at least 70 and still going strong.
It's a great place. Lots of hidden valleys, rushing rivers, wildlife ... bliss. You have to hop in the car, and drive to the top of the hill, to get a mobile phone signal. Heaven. It's what I have my sights on for the future, so it's given me lots of food for thought (and house design ideas).
It was great to catch up with all her brothers and sisters, my old childhood playmates, who have all Got Old since I last saw them. I suppose I have too. We're all in our 40's now, so lots of water has flowed under the bridge. Anyway, it's made me a bit happier about having to come back here for family reasons, as some of them are reasonably nearby so we can visit etc.
I'm glad the gig went well. A good gig is very therapeutic ... well, that's my excuse for heading off for a night out. It's good for you. Your fella is a versatile chap ... I like all those styles, actually. What does he play?? Is he a drummer - they always 'play' things around the house, like the table top, the arm of the chair, the coffee table ... I think it's unconscious. Or does he play the guitar?? Or sing?? Or all of the above. Some do, you know. I think musicians are good value, they seem to get a lot of whatever out on stage, and come home all relaxed and happy. They also know there is something in the world more important than themselves.
So, I'll see you (in cyberspace) soon.
Take care

Hi! Your time away sounds like it would have been wonderful. It's always nice to get away for a while, relax, etc. But the catching up with old friends you've known all those years in always cool, too! I'm also glad that you've been inspired as to house building ideas- if you need to come back there, you'll have friends close by as well as a wonderful place to live.
The situation in New Orleans is pretty bad. While I won't condone looting and rioting, I think that while I have no way of comprehending the scope of fear, frustration, and anger those people had to be dealing with, I can at least sympathize with it. Sometimes, things don't make any sense to me at all, but I try not to assume the worst about people. Although shooting at rescue workers seems pretty stupid and counter-productive.
My guy plays drums. And he plays them pretty darn well, too. He does drum on stuff around the house- we have a set of spare drumsticks in the living room and one in the kitchen specifically for air-drumming, etc. Countertops, footstools, the cat... everything has been used as an impromptu drum. When my back hurts, backrubs usually wind up turning into a mini-jam session, with my back being tom, bass and snare, and my head a high-hat, apparently. I think he can play guitar a wee bit, but I know for a fact he doesn't like to sing. I would venture a guess that he first got into drumming because it allowed him to fade into the background somewhat while still making a LOT of noise.
Well, I woke up at the crack of dawn today, and we're going to a barbecue this afternoon (grilled veggie burgers, yum!), so I think I should lie back down for a while. Hope you and your family are all well, and the week treats you well.
See you again soon.
Best,

Greetings from wet wet Canberra
I've tried to get onto this site a couple of times over the last few days but it's been coming up "server too busy"!! I thought it was about 3 am over there when I'm on the net. Is this a refuge for the sleep deprived or what?? Oh well. Technology isn't all it's cracked up to be.
More gardening, a new patient and I found an excellent herbal dispensary. Over the other side of town, but I can just trot over there once a week and either drop remedies off or get them to come around and pick them up. I'm heading toward needing a space away from home to work in.
So your friend is a drummer. Perhaps he could begin a new type of therapy combining music and rhythm with massage ...
The heart and soul of the band. I've always been of the opinion that no matter how good everyone else is, if the drummer isn't up to speed then basically they'll never make a good band. The backbone of the band.
I shared a house for some years with a drummer, who was (and still is) in much demand. He'd sit there drumming on whatever he could with his index fingers, including people's heads ( ... dinner, he'd call, doing a neat little paradiddle on someone's cranium). At the moment, he's getting into being a 'family man' with a new little girl to keep him and his wife occupied. He recently bought a music school, being somewhat good with money etc. and now has turned capitalist with some success. Good on him, he's a top bloke and deserves it. One of his earlier bands was the Screaming Believers (punk)(the Band that Should Have Been Stars), and another was Blind Dog and the Guides (R&B), which was a totally different scene. They did a few gigs out in the bush for the Gypsy Jokers (bikers) ... they were their favourite band, and I went along once (which was quite enough). The sort of gig where you end up hiding in the band room. ... not.
I found out, some years later, that the house we shared (with another friend who was a guitarist and is now a drummer) was "notorious" in the street as "the Punk House". Well, all we did was live there, minding our own business, going to work (we all had jobs, in contrast to the general stereotype), and just doing whatever it is you do to get along in group houses (it's your turn to do the washing up, I did it yesterday ...). It was a quite unremarkable lifestyle, but a lot of fun as well, I should add. We had some brilliant parties, but the "sex, drugs and rock and roll" bit was pretty average, not what one would think from the media hype. Tours were fun, (I went on a couple) but we never trashed a motel room, or threw a TV into the swimming pool ... The movie 24 Hour Party People (about Joy Division) was pretty much how it was, actually. Except the Australian punks all wore unrelieved black, "the black people", and very few had weird hair. Now, we still tend to gravitate together, I suppose it's all that shared experience, and the fact that the people attracted to that scene were a really nice bunch.
New Orleans is still a major tragedy. It's terrible how people have suffered, and are still suffering. A couple of Australian guys who were there have come home and begun a fund to assist those affected. It must have been terrifying, and you're right, you don't know what those poor people have been through. It's impossible to imagine how it would affect you unless you were there.
Anyway, I'd better get off to dig up more garden. The sun's out and the birds are singing. Have a great week (0r is it weekend there?? It's Sunday here).
See you
St. F.

Hello again!
I'd had problems getting on the site as well, late last week and over the weekend, "Server Too Busy" being just one of them. I used to spend a lot of time on h2g2 a fews years ago when I was laid off work for a year... definitely a respite for insomniacs. You can meet some really cool people from around the world if you cn manage occasional weird hours, eh?
My parents live in Florida and have been through some pretty powerful storms, but nothing of that magnitude. Looks like another one's getting ready to hit the Carolinas. I have family there, too. Hopefully things will improve as far as emergency managment goes and we won't have several repeat incidents before the agnecy gets themselves together.
I've only witnessed one hurricane, in St Maarten some years ago, Michelle I think it was, and it was pretty scary.
Anyway, great news about finding the dispensary for your remedies. That should be really helpful, yes?
It's Tuesday here today- was Sunday here as well when you left your last message. Australia is about 16 hours or so ahead, a little more during our winter because we observe Daylight Savings time during our summer. It's probably warming up a bit down there now, and I'd read in international weather that it had indeed been quite wet! Still having drought conditions here in the Midwest, which is bizarre when thousands of miles down south are under water. Not that it hasn't been humid, and it's still quite warm, but the forecast weather is about 20 degrees less than it was this weekend. So that's a bit of good news.
Well... I'm at work, and I've suddenly just inherited something to do... so I'll be back in touch again soon.
Best,

Hi there
Thought I'd drop by for a quick hello. Been busy doing a lot of stuff, but if you asked me what I was up to, I'd probably say "not much". Cool, wet and chilly again here in the National Capital. At least the blossom is out - drifts of fallen petals like pink snow on the driveway ... daffodils, broad beans, camellias ... spring is gearing up.
I'm really glad to have found that dispensary. A really good one is hard to come by. I keep a few bits and pieces, mainly for making cosmetics - one of my little sidelines (I have a cupboard full of lovely things like rosewater, cocoa butter, shea butter, almond oil, ylang ylang water, tincture of myrrh ... yum.)
This site is good for the sleep deprived, and it has helped me to adjust to a different state, not many friends and all the stuff that goes with having your life changed by circumstance. I don't think I've explored all its possiblities, as I'm basically computer illiterate (having only used them as elaborate word processors before, for writing and editing etc.) and the internet is a whole new world for me. It's a brilliant way of keeping in touch with people ... now most of my friends have internet on we constantly send each other stuff, chat etc. After my weekend away I came back to 19 e-mails, mainly from friends ... keeps one busy at least.
Speaking of sending each other stuff, you mentioned a CD of your b.f's. music. I'd love to hear it, but how can we exchange personal details on what's basically a public forum. I've noticed some weird posts ... not many, I'll grant that as most people here seem to be ok., perhaps I'm paranoid. I refuse to send bank details, credit card numbers etc. over the net anyway. In some ways I'd like to live like a troglodyte ... but the 21st. century seems to infiltrate itself into every nook and cranny of life, so what the hell??
Anyway, I guess I'll get back to my book (The No. I Ladie's Detective Agency ... the best read I've had in quite some time). See you soon. Take care. Hope the world is being kind to you ...

Hey there! Posting from work again, so this message may be brief.
>This site is good for the sleep deprived, and it has helped me to adjust to a different state, not many friends and all the stuff that goes with having your life changed by circumstance.<
I've never moved that great a distance, but I've moved several times, so I can kind of relate to the upheaval. I can certainly relate to having circumstance change your life. Sometimes, it turns out not to be so bad, overall.
Some of the people I've met here are really wonderful, and interesting to talk to- yourself included, of course! I've had a few bad experiences, but it's been nice, overall.
As far as getting personal details so I can send those CDs to you, you could send them to me in an email, if you're comfortable with that? My email address is wyrdsister23 at hotmail dot com. (Spelled out to avoid spammers, just mush it all back together and you're good to go!).
I'm a little paranoid about giving out too much info, too. But I'm pretty harmless, for the most part.
Ah, work beckons... enjoy the rest of your week, and I'll look forward to hearing from you again soon.
PS- thanks for sharing all of the details about the herbs and comsetics you make/work with. I might not always comment on them, but I am very interested. Please keep sharing!

Gidday from the Great South Land
Poot!!! I was going to the movies tonight with a friend, and she just rang and cancelled. Teenager trouble. Oh well, I'll just ring my very good friend and chat with him for a while. He's supposed to be coming down here soon, so that'll be good. The petrol prices have sort of given our long range relationship a bit of a pause. Oh well. He wants to go and see parlaiment (???!!!) for this visit. There's a good eatery at parliament house, so at least I'll have a good lunch. That is if I can eat after gazing at John Howard's (the prime minister) absurd eyebrows for an hour and a half.
Just sat down with my computer ... to recover from an energetic morning's gardening. I wanted to get this bed finished before it rains ... dug, forked, fertilized, with a nice little rock edging ... phew!!! Then I made some strawberry yoghurt muffins with a streusel topping. Yumm. Now I'm totally f****d, so going out would have had me snoring (gently) during the quiet bits of the movie. Anyway, it's freezing here, so staying in with the TV and the phone sounds rather good.
I saw an ad whilst out and about the other day - the Bangles are doing a gig here. I might just go. They were one of my faves when I was younger - I think I've still got one of their records (and nothing to play it on ...). Good harmonies, and some good songs. Are they an all-girl band?? I can't remember.
I'll e-mail you soon. I'm not weird (at least most things I do seem to have some basis in reality ... sometimes ...), I'm not into bugging people or sending them off stuff (unless I know they'd like it).
Just had an invitation to spend my birthday in Sydney with some old friends ... I tend to avoid large cities, but it would be different. And one of my friends (a dual citizen of the U.S. and Australia - she was married to an Aussie) has a nice little apartment in a very good part of Sydney (just near the harbour, on the north shore ... swish!!! Close to the city, markets, art galleries, shops ... I think I'm talking myself into it). Alternative - staying here and popping a bottle of bubbly with mum. Sydney definitely sounds better.
Anyway, I'll seeya soon in cyberspace. Hope the week's been kind to you, take care.

Sorry to hear about your missing the movie, but the trip with your friend sounds like fun! As does the gardening- sounds like a really pretty bed! I always enjoy hearing abut gardening from my friends who do, because I haven't room out in the back yard here to do it, and we rent one of three flats so I don't know if the landlord would let me even if there was room.
Those muffins sound awesome! It's cooling off enough here I can start using the oven again, and I'd like to try pumpkin bread, though neither of us cares for pumpkin so I don't know who'll eat it. I used to bake stuff for my future in-laws, but with gas prices being what they are, we can't make that drive very often.
A Bangles show could be fun! I haven't listened to them in years, but my sweetie has a couple of early albums. If you do go, let me know how it is!
The possible trip to Sydney for your birthday sounds cool, too! What a lovely birthday that would be!!
You have a good week too, be safe and enjoy the rest of the weekend! Talk to you soon!

Hiya
Just quickly ... what I do with pumpkin is make pumpkin scones. Delicious, not pumpkiny and easy to make. I'm not sure what you in the U.S. call 'scones', but they're little doughy thingies with sultanas in them. You put butter on them and ... er ... eat them with tea or coffee.
Not much happening, still digging around. Have to trim the 's eyebrows. I just noticed he was peering through a very thick fringe, poor pup.
if you want that muffin recipe, it's another simple but delicious little formula.
See you later

Well, hey there! Just a quick note myself, where did the weekend disappear to already?
I'd love the muffin recipe! And if you had one for those pumpkin scones, that'd be cool? I can't have tree nuts, though, I'm allergic.
Just so you can prepare yourself while waiting for the arrival of the CDs, here's a link to one of my sweetie's bands: http://www.thegeezers.net/geezers.htm . The Geezers are the punk band, and he's drummed with them since 1995. The "power pop" band, Tuffy UK (that's a gag, the "UK" part, there's another band around here named Tuffy and they had to change it... so they added the "UK" to be silly) has a web site in progress, but it's not accessible yet, and the country band, Axes of Evil, seems to be more or less a side project. I plan to send you the Geezers' CD "Prounce", from 1996 (they released a new one recently, called "Freeburn", I would have to burn a copy if you would like that one, as they haven't any packaged ones left) and Tuffy UK's first (s/t) CD. Hopefully you'll enjoy them.
Good luck trimming the poor puppy's eyebrows! Hope your week is good to you, and we'll see you later.

Hiya. Happy Friday!!
I tried your e-mail, but must have got something wrong. Will try again later.
Here's the message, anyway:
Hi there
Just to see if we have contact. Not much happening here - weather's good so have been getting out and about lately, gardening (there's always something to do out there). Haven't killed any patients lately. The one who was feeling weird because of her intake of stuff is feeling much better (thanks), but seems to have been drinking her formula as an aperitif ... like lots and lots. I gave her enough for a month, and she's back in a fortnight wanting more. But she swears she's feeling better ... people!!!
Anyway, here's the pumpkin scone recipe. I'll attach it, so I hope it comes out ok. Will send muffins later, I have to go and cook dinner now.
Looked up Geezer. Don't you get the moral majority doing vigils outside gigs??? Tee hee.
Dog now has groovy feathered fringe. Looking very cute. We went to the creek today. Now they BOTH need a good brush and a good bath. Tomorrow.
The 3 weird (wyrd) sisters are the fates, one spins the yarn, one does something to it (?) (nothing like being a bit hazy on one's Norse mythology) and the other snips the thread. Wyrd = wise. Herbalists are regarded (in the tradition) as being "wyrd", but we're usually just plain weird (and hazy on our Norse mythology). Oh well. You can't win 'em all.
See you later

Pumpkin Scones
Makes: About 1 dozen. Oven: Hot. 450-500 º F.
1 oz. Soft butter
¼ cup castor sugar
1 cup cooked, mashed pumpkin (approx. ¾ lb.)
1 egg
2 ½ cups self raising flour
pinch salt
½ tspn. Cinnamon
¼ tspn. Nutmeg
¼ to ½ cup milk or plain yoghurt, depending on dryness of pumpkin.
½ cup sultanas or chopped dates (optional).
Beat butter and sugar together. Add egg and beat well. Fold in sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk/yoghurt. Add fruit, if used. If necessary, add remaining milk/yoghurt to make a soft, but not sticky dough.
Turn onto a floured board and pat into a round shape about 1“ thick. Cut into rounds using a 2” cutter or a glass.
Place onto a greased baking sheet (I use baking paper). Brush tops with milk. Cook for about 12 – 15 minutes until golden brown.
Scones: The less they are handled, the lighter they will be. They need a very hot oven.
I use a mixture of yoghurt and milk, more yoghurt than milk. It makes them very light and fluffy.
This is an old recipe, so it’s in pounds and ounces.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Hiya! Thanks for the recipe... and the message!
I'm running late to work (and it's still only Thursday here, though I like your version better! ) so I have to be brief for right now.
Email adress is [email protected]. I try not to spell it out, in order to avoid spam programs picking it up, but I couldn't get much more spam anyway.
Geezers are pretty nutty, their gigs are always great. The trombonist does this thing where he lights rubber cement on fire in the trombone and trumpets through flames... they're not allowed to do it indoors anymore, thank you Great White...
OK, I'm off, gotta rescue the cat from under the couch (there's a loud thunderstrom going this morning), and catch my bus. I'll be in touch again soon.
Thanks again for the recipe... and thanks for noticing the Norse mythology nod.

Hi there
Just passing thought I'd drop in.
Question for you in the US: I've been invited to a Thanksgiving thing in Sydney (it sort of conicides with my birthday).
Got any good recipes for delicious traditional yummies that I can knock their socs off with?? There's going to be a bunch of expat Americans there. Perhaps I should stick to Anzac biscuits ...
Anyway, hope the week's been kind to you.

Hiya!
I still have half an email written for you and not completed... should get that off later today when I get back home.
I'm sure I can think up some recipes for Thanksgiving, would you prefer a vegetable dish, something with sweet potato or squash, or what kind of stuff? Vegan? Vegetarian?
The week was kind enough, just insanely busy at work (first week of the month we get all of the last minute closings from the previous month, plus property tax returns are due by the end of this month) and a sore wisdom tooth. I needed to be lazy yesterday, but I feel normal again.
Hope your week is off to a wonderful start, as well, and you'll be hearing back from me soon!

Hello from the sunny south
Well, I think that something vegeratrian, sweet potato or something like that. My friend is recovering from breast cancer, so meat is a no no. Sugar is out, so vegies it is.
For some reason, I keep thinking hollowed out pumpkins, but that's Halloween.
I'm now planting out my herb garden (at last). I ordered some rare herbs from an organic nursery in Queensland. They arrived on Friday, so am having a lovely time (a herbalist without a herb garden is like a fish without a sea ... a bird without a wing). Most of the rarer ones are North American forest herbs: one, Lobelia, I imagined would be a nice polite little ground cover, but I found out it grows into a great hairy bush over 3 feet high. Sigh. More digging. It's supposed to help you give up smoking, but with mum (90) still fagging away my hopes of getting drug free are pretty slim at the moment.
Anyway, have a good week. Hope they don't throw too much work at you. It sounds as if this is quite a good job, considering. You sound happier, anyway.
