ive only just found out your from where i lived till i was eight,
golbourne lancs,i was born in warrington 30/10/17.

i lived in prescott ave,its probable gone now,my grandma lived in leigh st
if my memory serves wme well

bottom of leigh st was a school
golbourne county junior ,its probably
gone to.

i have family living in west ave over the hill past the police station,

Hi there
I have only lived in golborne for 4 month prior to that i was born and dragged up in Leigh..there are one or two people round here that have lived here for a while the guy who lives next door to us is called jim and he used to work at the pit does a lot of articles for paper about Peter Kane the boxer..you probably know him..
how long is it since you left Golborne? BTW where i live is Elliot..

hi marc i was eight,i can just remember the name of the school.

i bet the town center as change is the little police station still there

(i visited me brother about 12 yrs ago just before he deid)

if you go over the hill towards the old pit(if any is still there,)

there is a church at the bottom c,of,e,cant remember the name,now.

if you look in the churchyard the name deluce,my mother,father,and a few others i didnt know are buried there (and back of the church is a small estate,a ave,west ave, my brothers wife still lives there abouts.smiley - discojim

the church is still there and the school is St.Thomas my 2 lads go there, the police station is still there but they have moved to just across the road, the pit is gone and all the Bonk is landscaped so it is hard to see where the pit used to be there is also a new housing estate over the other side and an few wharehouse units..they are on about re-opening the station but they have had that bee in there bonnet for years..West ave and derby are still there as well as knowsley ave..

i can remember vaughly(sorry about spelling)where we lived,(presecott ave,you went passed the side of the police st,on to the end(there was a army barracks or something there,then you turned to the right and went about two miles to a railwaybridge(going towards ashton-in-makerfeild)just before the bridge(about quarter mile,was a turnoff to the left into prescott ave,i lived a number4,

its probably all gone now,even at 7yrs old, i would go to the railway off to the right nr prescott,and a friends father was the signalman, and when the train came for the haydock races sometimes we would go through the special gates,on the train and see the horses for about a hour till the racing started,ah those where the days smiley - discojim
