Fit the First

I thought it was about time I put something in here.
Can't really think what for the life of me, but I thought it neccessary all the same.
Perhaps I should tell you how I came by the alias of Radox The Green...
Perhaps I shouldn't...
Perhaps I should go 'little wurdles'...
No, that would be too much of a cliche`.
Perhaps I should bemoan how I just used a word needing an accent and wasn't able to place one, because there is no provision for selecting a symbol like you can in Word and so I had to place a sort of backward version of same after the letter instead...
But what would be the point?
No, I shall do as I was going to do in the first place and tell you how I came by the alias of Radox The Green.

Radox The Green was a character in the four part BBC radio series 'Hordes Of The Things' by APR Marshall & JHW Lloyd.
This was broadcast back in the eighties (I think) and 'Hordes' may or may not have been spelt with an 'e' (it was a long time ago). If I knew for sure those two facts I might even be tempted to do a guide entry on the series but as it is you will just have to be content with the explanation.
Radox The Green was played in the production by Frank Middlemas, again I apologise if I have spelt the name incorrectly but I am working from memory and for some reason I feel there was only one 's' in the surname. I could be wrong...
Other members of the cast included Paul Eddington as king Yulfric the Wise III, Simon Callow as Crown Prince Veganin,, and, I think,
Miriam Margolyes was the mother of Agar, son of Athar (Christian Rodsca?). Not sure about that, (you can see why I dont do this as a guide entry now can't you).
The Chronicler was Patrick Magee, that much I can remember!
As if you hadn't guessed, the programme was a comedy pastiche of 'Lord Of The Rings', which is why the word 'Hordes' may have not had the 'e'.
Anyway, Radox was the grand wizard (smiley - wizard) who had the unenviable job of trying to find the hero who would defend Albion against the wrath of 'The Evil One' ("many was the hobbit on which he trod"). He also had a rather strange habit of placing salad garnish around the feet of anyone who had just been the recipient of one of his spells ("well, presentation is so important don't you think?"), thankfully, you'll be glad to know, this is something that I don't do. I may have the name, but not the manners...thank goodness. Incidently, Radox in the radio series was pronounced 'Rah - dox' although your friendly neighbourhood H2G2 version is pronounced the same way as the better known product for your bath. It's easier to remember and anyway, I might get offered an advertising contract, smiley - winkeye or if I'm really lucky, some nice young girlie might get confused between the two and want me in her bath! smiley - cheers
Well, a guy can dream...
