It is difficult to make a living painting - think of all the great artists. But can't you combine it with something else?

You have such a talent - I love the second picture on exhibition - it really made me want to go through the passage and see the other side of the house!.

This is rapidly turning into TPC's ego stroking thread. Not that I'm complaining.....

I think of all the great artists and I don't see myself living like that somehow. They were phenomemonally gifted people with a calling. I apparently can paint a bit and I enjoy it, but I enjoy it because I get to call the shots and paint what I like. You can't do any job like that unfortunately...!

My dear little psycho

My first training was as a radiographer - over fifty years ago. I had small children and I had to work so I decided to drop radiography and teach swimming. I had fortunately been a good swimmer when slightly younger, and I just loved teaching.
So for 21 years I helped the family finances by teaching something that I loved.

Then another change - and off I went to be an ageing student studying an undergraduate degree.

If I didn't like something the lecturer said, yours trooly would disagree. Wonderful.!!! (so inadvertently I became a middle aged rebel) I changed my course several times in my first year until I settled for what I eventually became passionate - and still am passionate - about.!

That is Justice, Peace, Love, etc. etc.

So dear psycho, never let me hear you say again that you cannot do what you want. Of course you can, if in the process you do not cause unhappiness or harm to anyone.

End of lecture!!.

I will be very reluctant to let work take my painting away from me again, that's for sure. I had forgotten how much I loved it when my old job took it away and won't let that happen again.

And the brochure for the evening classes has just come through today too..... Time for a peruse

Incidentally if you could post more of your paintings in your virtual gallery it would be possible to "choose" a painting and then we could get down to the brass tacks of exchanging beautiful pictures for the wherewithall for living!!.
