His mother was against this until Anthony ran away from home. Despite te fact that he only got as far as his friend's house his mother made he decision that Anthony was better off under his father's control.

An Introduction to Drugs, Daredevil Stunts, and the forming of the band:
(I'm not sure about 'paralytic shock' - did this get discussed in PR?)
in any case, here's my suggestion

Anthony had boken his back but despite this he managed to pull himself out of he water, after which he spent a month in traction.

We get onto the serious drugs. As you know, I prefer to condense this furhter than you have - also my personal writing style would prefer longer sentences in any case (that's my personal preference only). So, instead of what you wrote, can I suggest something shorter:

On the drawing room table was a huge amount of white powder that the adults were taking lines from. Anthony of course joined in. At some point the adults decided to go out, by this time there was one small line of white powder left. They told Anthony he could stay as long as he didn't touch that one small line. Anthony promised, but of course as soon as the adults had left he quickly snorted up the line.

That little white line was China White Heroin. When the adults returned and discovered that Anthony had taken it they were frantic, worried that he would overdose on it. It turned out that Anthony was very lucky and was fine with no apparent side effects.

Even though he had such a good experience in his brush with heroin, he did not seek it out again until he was 18. At which time, Anthony met a guy at the place where he worked who told Anthony that he could supply him with some heroin. They agreed to meet at Anthony's house. The experience was rather disappointing for Anthony. He did not get the magical 12-hour high he was expecting. In fact, the heroin that he shot up had little effect on him. He later found out that this was because the guy who had supplied him scored his heroin pretty weak.<<

They visited a coke dealer's house, where the adults indluged themselves with some white powder. Later, alone in the house, Anthony found some China White Heroin which he took. He had a lucky escape and apparently suffered no side effects.

He did not take heroin until four years later and the experience was disappointing to him because it was a weaker type of the drug.
