I have prevailed upon your very kind invitation, and now find myself within your majestic walls.

My 3rd cousin (twice removed) Absalon, had a little place on the Tridge much like this. Unfortunately, the dreadful skunks of the IR took their numerous pieces of flesh from the poor lad, and now all is in ruins, and in the care of the NHS.

But I digress, as I always do.

I have brought you a quart of quince jelly, and a samovar of Doolittle's Semi-Quaff (N.V.) and I do hope that you enjoy them. I have been meaning to call for some time, but owing to certain ghastly disasters here at Gedditon, have found myself quite unable to set foot outside the drawbridge.

I am very intriqued at your mention of the Knights of H2G2. I shall look through your fine abode (if I may) and search for a "link". I hope that these Gentlemen hold the answer to my present problems, which have taken a distinctly eerie turn for the worst.

I shall leave the samovar well inside the door, as it is inclined to draw the attention of magpies.
