I remember you mentioning a while back that you're based in Loughborough, and that you're also at uni.
I'm originally from the UK, and came out to Australia a few years ago. Loughborough University has a significance for me, as it's where I did voluntary work for a few months way back in 1988. (I was based in Telford Hall).
Later on, I moved to a newer estate behind the large council estate the other side of Ashby Road from the university. I was running a small record label, but that's another story.
I expect Loughborough has changed quite a lot (I was last there in 1993).

I am in Loughborough, but I'm not at uni...yet!
But my mum used to work at the Pilk Library, and I do know the Uni quite well!
So you stayed in Thorpe Acre, I went [that still sounds so weird!] to a school there!
Loughborough has changed quite a bit... probably! The uni the most, as we've now got an olympic size swimming pool, and extended chem and engineering dept. as well as other things too!
The Town itself has become more studenty, as we've got more pubs and clubs.. and more coming too! We've also got the infamous 'Sockman' a bloody horrible in our now pedestrianised town centre, which we got for the minnellium!!
What did you do at uni, and what did you think of it?
I'm not originally from Lough, but have lived here since I was 3, so it's kinda where I'm from, as opposed as where I've been born!!

I was working with Community Service Volunteers as a live-in helper for a disabled student. I wasn't a student myself, but was part of the student scene. Telford Hall is on the campus, not at Thorpe Acre.
At first it was a great relief to escape from Sevenoaks in Kent into a totally different reality, but after a while I found the conservatism of many students a bit grating. I managed though to link up with several different scenes, and met a lot of people.
Apart from the traffic I thought the town was OK, especially the park with the carillion. The surrounding country in the direction of Beacon Hill was interesting (and hopefully still is!)

Aaaah: were you on Garendon Road, opposite a hall of residence for foreign students at Burleigh. I do love Queens Park and I like Bradgate Park. THe town centre is a lot nicer now, as it's all pedestrianised, yet you still get the markets!
