Oh i remember Punk Rock, like it was only yesterday....

Have not got any recordings but enjoyed the tracks I've heard. It's the same as the band that does Abba songs in the style of the Ramones, entertaining but not enough to make me buy it.

Abba in the style of the Ramones????
I really like Helen Love, even though they portray themselves as a bit of a joke there's a real musical and lyrical sensibility at work there. As with the Ramones really.
Dee Dee's funeral got a report on BBC24 last night too.

You'd have had to sit up through a saccarine American TV movie about an abused deaf-mute girl first - unless you're a severe insomniac it wouldn't have been worth it.
The report ended with comments that freinds thought it was his first shot in eight years - which might be being a little chartiable, but could also explain things too.

The Pogues "Sick Bed Of Cuchulain" seems more than appropriate at the moment.
I would say "Underground Medicine" by The Fall too - only while i was in pain last week and was halucinating i was 'trapped' in a loop of the song "Diceman" - just the one line that says "I am the Dice Man" over and over and over again, and i don't want to tempt fate.
And perhaps in light of my new (and slightly reluctant) tea-total status, perhaps "The Hymn for the Alcohol" is now fitting to.

And i thing both Jonathan Richman, and The Lemonheads did tracks called "Hospital". And The drummer out of Pavement did a track called "Hospital for the Chemically Insane".
And Wire: Kidney Bingo
And the Adverts "Bored Teenagers", and "Boredom" by Destroy All Monsters.

As far as this week goes, anything by X-Ray Specs; Test Dept; or Ultrasound would fit!

Saw it, then decided i must go to a club and listen to quality punk noises. Did so. Danced. Shouldn't have. Now i hurt, but it felt so good. When i left hospital they said don't take long car journeys, don't lift anything heavy - like a kettle. They didn't say no pogoing.

Glad to see you are out and about(ish).
As far as I know pogoing is good for body and soul and does not involve lifting any kettles!
Any new purchases I should be listening to?

Thanks. Going back to your thread in the summer, I listened to "Yes Sir, I Will" the other day and was struck by two things.
1) who would of thought that the soldier pictured would become more famous (in most people's eyes) then Crass?
2)The production still sounds good unlike a lot of stuff done in the late'70's. The 1st Clash album sounds really tiny and weak - the songs are fantastic but compared to "The B******s" suffers somewhat.
