Marjin, After a long time of procrastination back lurking

Hi, I asked you to update your space, in order to make it possible to post a message here. Before I rant on, let me introduce myself. I call myself Marjin, and I am an Ace, an Assistant Community Editor. We are a group of volunteers wo like to help people around in h2g2, and especially the new ones, as it can be very strange and maybe even frightening in the beginning. First of all, feel free to look around everywhere, just by following links. Most peoples personal spaces are very interesting, as they take a lot of effort to create something special, and it can be a good start to see what discussions may be interesting. If you have a question, just push the little 'reply' button, fill in the question and post it. It will appear on my space and I will be back soon. A few good links to start with are: The Post, our weekly magazine: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/thepost The smileys you see on many pages: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/smileys Peer review for 'serious' discussions, just click the Peer-review bar at the top of the page. It is NOT an advertisement! I am also a Guardian Angle, another group of people who like to help, but maybe more focussed on the pure fun-side and role-playing part of h2g2. You can find more about them and other groups on my page. Just click on my name at the top of this entry and you will be transferred. And if you are tired from your looking around, have something at the bar or the cafe: http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F70774?thread=144403&latest=1 http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F26140?thread=140977&latest=1 If you want to reply to someone, or add to a discussion, just push the little blue bar with (reply) or (add to this conversation) or something like that. Especially in the beginning, use the 'preview' button forst, it shows what will be posted, and gives you the opportunity to correct some errors. Well, that was the official part. For the problems you have with your parents, I will return to that conversation. I sincerely hope we can help you to find a solution. Have a very good time with us on the guide

Marijn, I don't want to accept your welcome under false pretences.
I'm not a complete newbie.

There is nothing underhand about this account - I'm not a banned researcher or anything - the email address is the same for both - it's just a privacy issue because too many people have access to my normal account.

LG,
It's quite normal to run into secondary personalities when greeting.
Looking at the other posts you made already gave me some idea that we may have met before. You could have changed your password, and unticked the "remember me always on this computer" at sign-on.

Is the situation with your mother made up also? That would make your life easier, but not that of others who suffer the same situation.

Marijn, NOTHING has been made up.
Please don't tar me with the same brush as that mendacious troublemaker.
I'm afraid I seem to be one of those accident prone people that has pheasants flying into my windscreen beak-first and breaking it. smiley - erm
People tend not to actually believe these things unless they have proof.smiley - laugh

One of my friends used to have a psychiatric social worker. One day he hit me and I fell backwards, hit my head on a wall and got concussion. He felt terrible.
His PSW told him he shouldn't feel bad because there are some people who are "Natural Victims" and I am one of them.

I think there may be some truth in that. If you give a child a handicap or two to start with and don't teach it to deal with the subsequent taunts it will get worse and worse as it loses confidence, so other people's perceptions of it will worsen and the spiral just goes down from there.

But I am not a victim and certainly not one of these self-pitying "Survivor" types and I do not need to make up spurious stories.

I do not want anyone's pity or mockery.
This site is anonymous so no-one can know who this stupid pathetic person actually is but I have an identity onsite that is known to friends and family so I dare not use it to say the more difficult things.

Please do not class me with that awful woman/man/whatever who either can't tell fantasy from reality or can but enjoys causing trouble.

A completely different kind of animal.

LG, please don't misunderstand me. I was just asking, NOT accusing you of making things up.smiley - cheerup

You describe a horrible situation in one thread, and post carefree in other threads (maybe continuing from your other self).
So when you said you are here twice, I just wanted things cleared up.

Keep your other self secret, unless you need to combine them, I will not search for it. But I wonder, was my name a typo or would it have been possible if you ACEd yourself?

I don't think there really are natural victims, only created ones, like the poor kids in school that are almost driven to suicide (cannot find the right word). And your friend had a stupid PSW.

But in your family situation, you ARE a victim. Victimised by your mother and the people surrounding you.
