"If you will play silly games with the big boys....."
Odo Started conversation Jul 11, 2003
"....you should expect to get hurt." As I was always told by the family.
Although in this case it's entirely my own fault that I've ended up so . The 'big boys' were the ones offering to pick me up and dust me off.
Luckily I still bounce fairly well so I'm in one piece just with rather a lot of gravel-scrapped skin and a very colourful knee.
Why do bruises do that? It was a delicate mix of pale purples, blues and greens yesterday, now it’s turning to a ghastly mix of black and yellow.

Have you perchance christened your leather? Or is this not a bike related falling over?
Did you go get the gravel rash seen to? There's nowt like iodine on gravel rash to deter you from doing whatever it was again
And proving doctors are sadistic!
Oh, sorry, was it sympathy you needed?

I could do with some sympathy but I'm not going to get any so I'll sit and instead.
Actually I won't sit and for too long or the knee stiffens up.
NO, it wasn't a bike that's caused the damage but a fight rehearsal. They've put some extra scenery in and we were warned about our charge, ie. leap off the platform and whatever you do don't land on the steps!!
Well I certainly leapt, and I definitely didn't land on, or even trip over the steps!!!! I did rather fly into the ground though. Apparently it looked pretty spectacular!
Please don't mention falling off bikes here!

Poor Odo! A friend of mine's in the Three Musketeers, and he has to do fire breathing
He's got himself a rather sore throat.

Oh it is, not done it myself but there are some ace photos of a party I went to where 3 or 4 mates were firebreathing. The main problem is if you do it too much you end up with nice scaley sking on your face / throat from the liquid, plus if you smallow any of it then it gives you the runs the next day. Fire juggling is cool as well, although if you don;t know about the equipment then the first time someone says 'do you want a go on my fire balls' you may not immediately realise what they are on about!

Perhaps I'll leave that one alone for a bit, I don't fancy sking on my throat.
I can't juggle but I have seen a couple of fire diabolos.....

hmm, perhaps you are right.
Now all I need to do is find out what 'sking' is! Sounds like a technical term for some sort of weird animal poo or something !

Ah, the thrill of the typo!
Fire diablos?
"If you will play silly games with the big boys....."
Odo Posted Jul 11, 2003
Yep, metal diabolos that you put bits of rag (or similar) into the spaces at each end and then set fire to.

They look fairly spectacular in darkness. I wouldn't want to miss a catch and drop it on anyone though.

Not something to do on a raised platform then!
On flying lessons, I once tripped over the metal bit that runs between the door frame, and flew across the room, and crashed, in a very cartoon like way, into the wardrobes on the opposite side of the room. Which I then slithered down.

The fire balls my mate had were cool. (and it isn;t often you'll see those words together!).
They were kinda like a ball spring, single metal rod wound round to make a ball with a central part which was ignited. They did get hot but the flame was in the centre of the ball so you could hold them. looked really cool!
